Do people read the OT Forum Regularly?

edited June 2018 in General App Discussion

I often post computer deals on this forum that are very time sensitive. For example today there is a sale on SynthMaster One for $20 at JRRShop. It’s a one day sale.

Somebody told me that all OT topics belong in the Off Topic section, but I wonder what you all think about these kinds of posts. People might miss out on stuff they want to know about. I was not even aware of the Off Topic section until yesterday.

  • I read from the front page so all topics are mixed in together as far I know. I saw your special offer today.

  • Oh yeah. Silly me. Thank you. :) :)

  • I wouldn’t class my reading of it as regular – there can be quite wide discrepancies of intervals between my readings of it, varying from minutes, to hours, to overnight. Same as the other categories on here, in fact.

+1, I see all the posts on the front page, and Joc usually posts what I’m about to write so I can just post a +1

  • +1 all catagories mixed together. I choose what I’m going to read based on individual thread titles. I hardly notice what catagory they come from.

If you enter through a specific category, you only get threads from that category, so you can read related topics without having to sift through a bunch of noise. It's a nice option to have, if you are short on time and only want to see what's new in iOS related topics, but it doesn't work if people just plop everything in "General."

Categorizing properly doesn't effect exposure much and it's being courteous to those who approach the forum differently. Thanks for your consideration

  • I do read this forum regularly and look forward to it. My employment is caring for an older gentleman who has had a stroke. I sit for hours and would love to take that time to work on music, but since I can’t, I read until I am tired of reading, but this forum always is read.

  • Well, it's a good thing that you posted this here, because I never, ever visit the OT section, and I just bought synth master 1 for $20, so thanks!
