Composing Loops for a Live Set FAST
Hi guys and gals, I'm new here but been lurking for awhile...my 1st post. Glad to be here! I have a few questions/issues.
I'm not a complete noob, I have lots of music knowledge and I do have many great apps to work with already, but i am asking for opinions/help with a specific task. I love using BlocsWave, Beathawk and others to compose loops which i move into the Launchpad app. (i know many of you do as well) I lay them out how I want, etc etc. You know the logic.
Here is the main point... I want to record EXACT guitar parts/loops through my interface and combine them with everything else in Launchpad laid out in a grid to be fired off in order of the song. I know I have many options here. What can I use? Many DAWs and loop apps can do this. Here is my other main point... I need these loops to be at the same audio level as everything else from Blocs etc. I have a grasp on how to achieve this but I'm looking for a streamlined somewhat fast method to achieve this. Lots of quality guitar loops, real FAST. Here's why...
I have used hardware loop pedals for awhile and have painstakingly recorded and saved TONS of guitar parts/backing tracks into the memory of them. (BOSS RC300, VoiceLive3) I'll cycle through them at a show. But going through menus at your feet live isnt as fast or professional, at least to me. And they are a lower sound quality...and this is why I bought an interface and a launchpad pro controller. I can program 64 pads to each song or have a whole live set on a few banks etc much like Ableton Live. I want to ditch the hardware looper with backing tracks and replace it with the Launchpad setup. But I want to re-record these guitar parts in higher quality through my interface. I have shows coming up that I'd like to prepare for with this new setup.
So what do ya think? It has to have Ableton Link too...
BM3?
AUM?
Quantiloop?
Blocs?
Audiobus into Audioshare?
Loopy HD?
Or maybe ditch the ipad and use Ableton with the Launchpad Pro?
So what do you guys use? How would you go about this task? Remember, its all about the guitar parts...fast with quality.
THANKS EVERYBODY FOR LISTENING. LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR HELP. GLAD TO BE ON THE FORUM.
