I’m really inspired by how he uses the record in function in blocs wave but I don’t understand how he is doing that. Is he routing the audio from his Mac back into blocs wave via the focus Right? I thought your two options with blocs wave were internal mic or audio interphase so not sure how he is recording in the sounds from his iPad.
I tried it today with my Novation Audio Hub connected via CCK3 to my iPad Pro and running from the 1/4” Audio Jacks on the back of my Circuit into a Roland Go Mixer then line out back into the Novation Audiohub. I use the mixer for the Circuit / a Volca and mic but you could go straight back to the Hub with a RCA line in. Works just like the guy shows probably the best looping option on the iPad IMHO as you can trim on the fly and the timing is all setup inside Blocwave I find with other loopers you have to set this up and it’s hard to get it right.
I also have my Novation Audiohub balanced out 1/4” going into a Zoom 8 Mixer which I have connected to my Laptop to give me flex to record direct into Ableton 10 all clocked up via Ableton Link.
I’ve wanted to use Blocs Wave for live looping, but it never starts on the first measure for anything longer than a 2 bar loop. A 4 Bar loop would start on the 2nd bar, an 8 bar loop would start on the 4th bar, and a 16 bar loop started on the 12th bar or something like that. Those numbers may not be what I was experiencing, but it was definitely inconsistent on which bar the loop would start on if you hit stop\start. If you never hit stop it would keep going in time. Blocs Wave is the only Novation App I can see myself using if that ever gets fixed. I saw someone else had this problem before.
I tried it today as well and did almost exactly the same things you did except I’m working with a focus right Scarlett solo. It worked but the sound quality was noticeably different when routing the audio back in to the iPad vs recording into AudioShare and audio copy/pasting the file. So I suppose the take away is that it is viable for live performances but I think I might just brain storm in AUM and copy any clips over that I like.
You can also record into blocs wave via Audiobus.
I had no idea... the tutorial videos don't mention that so I never tried. Thanks for the tip!

I have noticed that you, you can't hit record until you're almost to the end of your loop, so a 4 bar loop hit record while bar 3 is playing thru... But ya it's annoying so I just stick with the ol trusty loopy hd
blocs is not yet totally there, the looping can indeed be annoying
I assumed this was user error. Every loop I have put into Blocs always started at a weird time. It was so tantalizingly close to perfect, but after a while I gave up.
