3 iPads / Interface / Mixer Configuration Options:
What are the way you have seen or use 3 iPads hooked up as far as interface(s) and mixers?
I am adding a device but didn't really consider this till now.
I have the Novation Audiohub and Behringer mixer.
But, not enough holes you know.
Thinking about another Audiohub maybe or some way to integrate something like a Roland Go or the older IK DJ Mixer.
And almost keep one primary and then the supplemental 2 iPads through a second tier system of audio
Also would like MacBook Audio in this config if possible.
I would love to just hear or see some ideas for food for thought.
Device will arrive in 3 days.
Thanks y'all.
Interfaces? Mixers? Methods?

If you want the Macbook in there anyway you could try using an IDAM aggregate where all the audio is routed through the Macbook, that way you don't need any mixing/interface hardware at all. I tried this with 2 devices the other day, seemed to work reasonably well.
In my studio setup I just run all the devices into the main console either via usb audio or direct from the headphone out.
How about the iconnect Midi4+? On the front side there's 2 slots to connect iPads, and at the backside a slot to connect a Macbook. It can send and trancieve audio beside midi.
Never even thought of it
Geez thanks
I had one a while back but mucho issues way back when so got rid of it
May re examine
how exactly do you do that?
There's not a whole lot to it here's how it works:
1. Bring up Audio MIDI Settings
2. Find your iDevices and click "Enable" to enable IDAM mode
3. Once IDAM is enabled you'll see one new audio device for each iDevice pop up
4. Create a new Aggregate Device (click the little plus icon on the lower left)
5. Select the Aggregate and enable the iDevices
6. In your DAW select the Aggregate as your main audio device
You'll get MIDI connectivity as well. However, one thing you can't to this way is sending audio from the Mac to the iDevices.
I’ve had good luck with iConnectAudio4+ just using 2 iPads. I’d never use more than 2 iPads, but if I did I’d take the audio out into the Audio4+ and then both the other iPads could utilize it. You probably better use the Mac to make an aggregate audio interface setup as iOS can only have one. I don’t use Mac I’m on iOS only so, I can’t say how well it work.
If IDAM only requires cabling, I'd first try that and check it's performance.
(wouldn't bet my arm on it... personal estimation, but who knows...)
On failure I'd use an iCA4+ (no idea if it works flawless with IOS 11) and connect an iPad and the MacBook to it's 2 host adapters (they provide a charging cable for the iPad).
The 2nd iPad stays with the Novation Hub, which analog channels go to iCA port 3+4, both in and out. That way you can make iPad number 2 visible in for the other iPad and the MacBook by the iCA routing software.
Connect Novation Midi to iCA Midi by whatever port applies.
Control the routing stuff by the MacBook, it's visually a bit more appealing and probably more reliable, too.
ThanX Tfunk!
My three ipad setup is
Oldest ipad, mini2 - midi controller
Best ipad, pro '16 - instruments in AUM
Biggest storage, air 2 - recording + fx
Mini2 into M-Audio midiman ME with cck, then from midiman out & in to iCA4+ 5pin midi in & out
Then ipad pro and air 2 into the iCA4+
I have modstep on the mini2 feed midi to the instruments on the pro which then sends out at least 6 channels of audio out to the Air 2 to get processed in Auria pro.

All mounted onto a microphone stand.
oh and iCA4+ works fine on iOS11 for me.
Thanks
Gonna look at this when I get to gym and see what is happening.
I appreciate it.
Wow!
I did this and am so grateful to you!
It is so understated how you really don't need an audio midi interface proper if you have a MacBook.
I have the Novation Audiohub so can get all midi devices into MacBook / Ableton and then use apps with MIDI setting through Ableton!
Is this wireless or does one need to keep Lightning plugged in?
Latency if so?
Thanks
I see Ambify on your apps?
Can you tell us about that?
probably a silly question... can you record higher than 44 khz or are you stuck with the ipad internal sample rate (i think that is max 48 khz) also what latency can you run at?
