UDAGANuniverse Blog! (..and more generally -- hello all!)

Hey all!
Not been as active as I'd like recently but still working heavily with the iOS Music ecosystem in performance! Have been expanding in some completely new and pretty awesome directions that have been taking all of my time, so I've not really been posting but have been keeping up with what's going on and reading peoples opinions etc.

Anyway if anyone is interested, my wife and myself launched a blog on our UDAGANuniverse.com website this week. I've just shared my first article and Saydyy has also shared her introduction, which I'd highly recommend reading! She has walked through an inspiring and incredible journey in her life and introduces herself and her earliest motivations in her writing.

We'll be posting new content weekly.

Saydyy Kuo's Introduction
Oscar's Introduction

I don't talk in detail about iOS stuff as it's more of a broad overview (although you'll be able to find iOS presence throughout the article!). Future posts will go into a lot of various topics related to music, tech, life and all sorts of other tangents starting from those points.

Please share any suggestions or opinions!!
Oscar & Saydyy

Beat me to the same statement. The track on the About page is a real inspiration.

I bet you guys are amazing live.

  • Thanks so much for the positive feedback! I hope you enjoyed our writing and art.

you know I'm a big fan of your work and it's great to receive such close cover about a culture that's barely unknown in this part of the world. :+1:

  • @OscarSouth you are the real deal. Keep creating.

The kind words are seriously appreciated. Thanks all.

We have a lot of contemporary art to discuss and share (in good time) and Saydyy is very passionate in particular about her current core series of articles, which she hopes will put out a lot of true information about the real wonder of her place into the world. There are unbelievably many books written in Sakha language and very little has made the leap into European languages -- she's done a lot of work to find and prepare the information for her writing.

In recent years there are also a growing number of slavic performers from ex.soviet nations using Sakha culture as an 'attraction' and starting to get attention for it in Europe. Let me tell you that animal fur bikinis, xena accessories and crazy zoo animal sounds do not feature in an ancient, shamanic culture from a location where temperatures regularly hit -50oC!

We're not planning to take any direct action against that (not really our schtick -- people can do whatever they want and we'd rather create things) but Saydyy is passionate to put a version of Sakha's culture and mythology into the world for people to find that is true to reality and really gives the people who are interested to understand the real wonder of that hidden place, the opportunity to do so. I can tell you from working on it with her that the reality is by far more amazing and unique than what's currently available for consumption!

Building up the site is where our time is going right now so there'll be lots of new features and content coming.

Also, on the music tech side -- I'm currently writing a Machine Learning application (command line app - I'm not really a front end guy) in Haskell language that's built up from my Harmonic Algorithm concept (that's also coming to the page) and can interface with iOS apps live to create a kind of machine learning augmented instrument -- the algorithm as an instrument in the hands of the performer! That'll come as it develops, I have my head stuck in code (and category theory!) at the moment!

    Thanks again,
    Oscar & Saydyy
