Rozeta XOX/Automation - general question

Hi there.
I am starting to learn about “automation” and remote triggering of events/scenes/etc.

I have this test-setup in AUM

If i understand it right i can switch the “patterns” (1-8) with the keys in the configuration (C1, D1, E1, ...)
So if i hit the C1 on my MPKmini XOX should switch to Pattern 1, D1 to Pattern 2, etc.

Is that correct?
If yes - what did i setup wrong, because nothing happens when hitting the keys.
If not - how can i achieve this? Do i need a MIDI-Step sequencer that can send special values/CCs/Notes?

Some help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You might still have to point the MPK midi directly at XOX.

Either do this via the MIDI MATRIX in AUM,
Or tap on the 3 lines to the left off the XOX icon and select MPK as a midi source.

Also note that midi octaves can vary between software and devices. C1 could be C0 or C2, so just double check a few octaves.

Keep us updated on progress. :)

  • No, that should work - but it will first finish playing the current pattern before jumping to the new pattern (for a seamless transition). Perhaps that’s why it didn’t appear to work?

  • Thanks @brambos
This is somewhat strange - i had the patterns set to “auto advance” (go to next used after x) and it just did its thing.
After posting here i went back to AUM, removed the “auto advance” and set from “auto play” to “midi trigger” - then i could swap the patterns with the MPKmini (but had to hold the key down to actually get the pattern played).

Came back to the forum to read your answer and went back to AUM.

Redid my “auto advance” and set to “auto play” and tried again.
I could “disturb” the “auto advance” now with the keys on the MPKmini and everything seemed to work as (i thought) and obviously is expected.

So, thanks again and i guess it was just some hiccup - either in XOX or AUM.
I can not get it reproduced. Seems to work fine now.

Is it possible to change those predefined trigger-keys? Is it maybe possible to route these triggers to the MIDI control section for “custom defining” (in a future update)?
    Like so:

    Thank you

That was already done as i thought the keys would otherwise trigger into “nirvana” :)
Thanks anyway for pointing that out!
