Ableton Link Stop/Start apps
I've put in link stop/start requests to Quantum & have a nice option in the standard pop-up that allows the user to stop or start via link, but I'm having a hard time finding any other app that has this?
Any suggestions?
Quantum already supports AB3 transport play/stop, so I'm looking for others.
Anyone had good/bad experience with this Ableton feature?

For me, seeing this on screen, this is a first-timer.
Is there a new Link-API?
Yes It's been working great for me in current AB3 beta and Ableton, hoping for AUM and others soon to update for this
It actually feels like old midi clock is back but much better.
Ah, I can see it in the AB3 demo too, but no others just yet
yeah it's great when you have multiple devices with Audiobus on it
It’s in g stomper studio on Android too. Which is weird, pressing AB play button to have android tablet start up ....
I'm aware of it but still not sure what does it do exactly. Does it just stop all the apps playing while Link keeps running or..
does it stop link as well?
I don't think it's technically possible to stop link once it has started. So the sync'd transport still "waits" for the next quanta to start across apps. It does't do what you want--it doesn't restart the Link quanta with transport.
It's transport control (start/stop) for any apps that have start/stop enabled in their Link preferences. i have used it with Metronome by Soundbrenner to Start/stop Ableton on PC & Audiobus 3 on iPad, from my phone. Will be great when adopted by all, but still in it's infancy at the moment......> @supadom said:
Hope it's ok for me to say that the current Beta of Patterning 2 has Ableton Link Start/Stop.
I have Testflight if you'd like me to help test Beta?
Its not on Patterning 1 though - my go to app for Link!
Sure, my beta is out very soon
At the moment I'm putting in tweaks to Link timeline vs Q playback to allow you to tighten up the timing.
I thought more apps would have this onboard. Works great in AB3, but sometimes you just want to invite a single app to the Ableton party
Indeed. Strangely, no-one seemed remotely interested about it over on the Ableton 10 beta forum. It's a bit of a slow burner this one.........i'm not sure many people have heard of it, or realise that it's a bit of a game changer, (when dev's eventually adopt it as standard).
