Okie-cokie, back from the outdoors. Couldn’t resist another dabble with this little gem. As Doug says in the vid, it will take time to learn. There are quirks, and a few bugs to iron out. But first impressions are good. It’s the kid of app that, like AUM and AB befire it, could become a standard that many IOS music makers adopt.
Not yet sure of the recording options on offer, but replicating what AUM offers, and preferably adding a fixed loop length recording option, for example 1 bar, would be very good indeed.
I would like to see some AU apps designed for recording audio and midi for export to other apps or playback. Imagine I want to record one channel of sound, I just connect an AU record module after the source and any fx. I could route as many app chains there as I had running on that matrix.
Thanks Doug for the excellent video
Indeed it’s strange that your hardware keyboard was triggering the synths ,even when no routed . I think it might be a bug.
A tip for apeMatrix users:
When running effects ,always prefer setting the dry/wet knob to full wet since the dry signal is already routed to output .
Or mute the output route and leave the effect to route part of the dry signal to output.
Nice one Doug, good work especially since it takes a while to click with this one.
Quick question: is there a way to set up apematrix so that you can start recording in MultiTrack DAW from apeMatrix?
The sitch is that I have created a matrix with a couple of AU instruments and Animoog all sending to the A and B buses. I want to capture this layered sound as a single track in MT Daw. I have that all set up but can't see a way to initiate MT Daw recording from apeMatrix the way that I can when I am in an IAA instrument (such as Animoog) and want to start MT Daw.
I also haven't figured out how to hear MT Daw's output when it is loaded into apeMatrix.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
E
I just posted my own intro to apeMatrix as well:
Doug did all this in one hour ............geez
