Cool - I was well aware of doubling but the reverse reverb sounded great!
Thanks Phil...yeah...reverse reverb or delay is a nive effect...it also sound interesting if after you have created the finished reverse wave, add another slight reverb over the top if it...or chorus or flange..
I used to dupe vocal tracks so there were three, slightly detune along with very small delays, pan lcr to thicken the voice. No detuner in Cubasis, yet
A classic !
More cubasis tutorials please Doug !
@thesoundtestroom another great video, thanks!
Anyone have reasonable odds on a holiday Cubasis sale? I'm big on BeatMaker 2, as I've posted several times, but I'm worn down by the inane file management system. The app has bloated to over 4 gbs and I can't seem to fix it without creating a huge mess full of broken sample references that are driving me nuts!!!
I've delayed getting Cubasis because I still think $49.99 is a little high, especially for a company that charges a boatload for it's desktop app...
i got rid of BM2...could be arsed with the last update which was for over 600MB WTF ???
Yeah, @enc, bad enough that BM2 is loaded w so many mediocre samples that can't be deleted, but the file bloat, oh the file bloat!!!
Anyway I don't want to hijack the thread. Hoping there's a Cubasis sale soon and I can hold on long enough to get a discount out of it...
Thanks..technically speaking the doubling effect I use here is similar to a technique called ADT or Automatic Double Tracking, but in essence its the same, or a least very similar effect..ADT is used extensively by engineers to thicken up vocal tracks...try it with a vocal..
I'm guessing it's the kind of thing musicians from way back will know all about but if you've no previous (like me) it's great. Keep on with more please. Incidentally it's probably easier to just freeze the midi track to create an audio. And sorry, dj8, I don't think there been any cubasis sales
Cool @Ian, thanks. I'm trying to get info on possible holiday sales for cubasis... I'll have to wait and see. Now that I'm ready to buy, the $ is burning a hole in my pocket :-)
Yes..I could have just froze the midi..someone else pointed that out to me...sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees :-)
Great video Doug! I've always loved collecting tips like these! :-)
Awesome! Thanks for that video. As a metal guitarist I at least double up my guitar tracks (although they're completely re-recorded), but obviously the idea is to get the tracks as close as possible. Never thought about intentionally misaligning them in other situations. Very useful tips for someone like me who doesn't know much about this sort of thing.
Great video Doug! I always wondered how to get that Poltergeist kid stuck in the tv backwards reverb effect! I wonder if there is an app that will do this automatically ....Mabe one of the vocoder apps?Anybody know of one?Thanks again.
