Audiobus audio level difference issue with AUM on iPhone speaker

I’ve an issue with Audiobus 3 and iPhone 7 Plus built in speakers.

When AB host AUM, sound is MUCH quieter by perhaps 10/15 dB than AUM standalone. This is only on internal speakers, as there is no difference in audio levels using headphones.

Another 48khz issue? BTW AB audio crackles with IAA perfectly fixed here on iPhone speakers since last update. But this new issue again kills iPhone capabilities to run AB on speakers.

Anybody has noticed that? @Michael ?

  • Maybe try checking if measurement mode is on?

Many thanks that was the issue!!! I never thinked about that for sure.

But I’m confused, don’t measurement mode only related to internal microphone?

In my case AUM sends Reslice sound, there is no audio input used so this is a bit odd.

  • Measurement mode is weird... It does all kinds of crazy stuff (which is why it's not on by default)

Measurement mode affects both internal mic and speakers, when disabled (the default mode) iOS adds automatic gain control and loads of latency.

  • Measurement mode lower speaker volume when activated in Audiobus, not in AUM when used alone.
When off, latency is also increased on output, or only input/RTL?

Michael will have to answer if they're doing something additionally in Audiobus regarding speaker volume..

Regarding latency, it depends a lot on the device model. You can see the difference in AUM by tapping the DSP % indicator and look at the readings there.
