Quantiloop pro update
Quantiloop was updated. I’m tryin to use it with abelton, but when i play a synth into it, there is no sound. is there a global monitor button or something i am missing? I hear nothing. any body having similar issues?
Comments
it also keeps defaulting to 20bpm. something is weird. gonna delete app and reinstall.
I'm having the same issue. Not getting any audio.
i reinstalled and I got a little audio to come thru, but it was very thin sounding , and crackling the whole time. and it kept jumping back to 20-24 bpm. very odd
We cannot produce this behaviour here.
Nothing really changed in this area except for updated Audiobus and Linkkit SDKs.
Re: Audio
Re: Tempo
We'll do everything to get this resolved, but please send some more details in able to reproduce to [email protected]. Although we monitor this forum the fastest resolution is when you send to the email address.
Thanks
just tried it on my phone. I ran Casini and poison 202 into it and it worked fine. But when I used ran beathawk into it the audio got crunchy. I’ll try to see what apps I was using yesterday that had the same results.
pretty excited to have the transport controls. this opens the app up a lot. I think it’s gonna be really useful.
I just tried with multiple apps (about 10) as input to Quantiloop from Audiobus, and the only one that produces bad audio is BeatHawk. So I have a strong feeling that BeatHawk is the culprit here.... (BTW this only happens on iPhone not iPad)
Note this also happens with BeatHawk and Loopy for instance.
I can confirm on my end as well. Everything works as expected except Beathawk.
must be a beathawk issue. thanks for checking and confirming.
On the one hand, I can see how clever and versatile this app can be. On the other hand, I struggle to use it properly. I feel like I need precognition!
FWIW, I think what throws me is not seeing .wav forms represented and editable. Probably not possible to add such a thing without completely redesigning, and many smarter users may have more success as is.
That is good recognition of what makes an app tick for you. I think Quantiloop is a software version of a ton of guitar pedals, and as such seeing a waveform just doesn't make a lot of sense because that waveform would be at your feet and impossible to see.
I struggled with this app for a while until spending some time with it and a bunch of tutorials on effective guitar loop pedaling. Now it makes sense, at least from a guitarist's point of view. I think there are a bunch of other loop stations that do work with editable waveforms for example Blocs Wave. I'd always kind of criticized my beloved Loopy HD for the inability to edit the waves other than nudging.. then again, if I were a better musician and knew how to come in on the beat better I'd not even need that!

A good point.
While I make music, as an individual and part of a group, I don’t class myself as a musician. Quantiloop and Loopy HD are both aimed more at musicians as opposed to music makers.
I get Blocs Wave, and apps where I can see what I’m doing and directly edit that. But apps that rely on in-head editing tend to baffle me.
The answer, I suppose is to stick with what feels right to me and what I understand. Ironically, as an a pro DJ, Ihave no problem hearing melodies in my head, or picking out hooks, etc, etc. So maybe I’ll follow your path, and one day feel just as comfy with Quantiloop.
