2018 Summer NAMM

Who’s excited?! Know of any new hardware or apps or apps going on sale? I totally missed out on free BM3 during Winter NAMM and vow not to repeat

Comments

  • There is another NAMM in summer? When?

  • Apparently June 28-30th...

  • Is the summer edition more software ( and maybe iOS) oriented?

  • a little of everything in past years

  • The only app I know of that’s coming out is AudioKit Synth One. Hopefully we’ll get some long awaited app upgrades, too.

  • I’m hoping Korg throws another Volca out there. I was a little disappointed by the Kick and the Mix. I’m hoping for something maybe chiptune related, maybe a cool string-machine module, or maybe even a mellotron-style one?

Although I’m worried Korg may have ceased development on the Volca series, especially with Tats gone.

For those interested, some announcements have started coming in ahead of the show on Music Radar link

Personally, I might be all in for the Martin D-16EPD Poker Dogs guitar

Yes I have always hoped for an enhanced version of the Monotribe. I do also sense that the Volcas will cease.
There might be more Pocket Operators from TE?

  • Hoping Korg will have the new firmware for the Prologue, along with the librarian, so people can start messing around with user synths/effects. I wanna know how far coders can push this thing.

Or new synths/effects for Gadget. I’ll take definitely take that as well. I want that Apollo shimmer reverb available for all gadgets btw, iKorg?

  • Korg must be about to do something iOS related, right? It’s been a while! :#

  • Teenage Electronics is close to shippingthe Zoperator... there's another thread on this topic.

Summer NAMM tends to be more guitar and live sound orientated...usually very few announcements on the electronic music production or DJ side of things. I've been 3 or 4 times. One year I met Bob Moog, Roger Linn, and Bootsy Collins all on the same day.
