Launchpad MK2 - worth it for non-Ableton (iOS) use?
I can get a Mk2 for $80, would like something with a lot of buttons for iOS - Mostly pattern select stuff, mute/unmute/solo,, but maybe also a keyboard/drumpad replacement for out-of-the-studio use. I know there is no vel sensitivity, and no editor that I know of... has anyone gotten around these? I don't need vel sensitivity all that often... does it work as a basic button midi controller in iOS? Any feedback appreciated.

I got 1
Love it
Go on YouTube, there are videos on how to enhance the functionality, launchpad95, etc, they are quite cheap, fun,
Just search and watch perhaps before buying
So is it fixed midi assignment? I'll check it out, thanks!
I'd really get the pro if you can. It's a fantastic iOS and general synth keyboard. Specially with all it's built in scales.
Yeah, I'm gonna skip the mk2... thanks for eh'rybodies feedback.
You don't really need to spend 3x price for the Pro. Check out the Gridinstrument app. It adds all the Ableton Push scale modes to a Launchpad MK2 or Mini. You can then use the Launchpad as a midi keyboard with any app. It also can fake velocity. Well worth $2.99
Thanks! I'd forgotten about this app, and now that I have a Mini I just bought the app and am trying it out with the internal sound. Later will do the MIDI out for further experimentation.
