Touchable mini: just WOW!
I just bought Touchable mini to use it with Live 9 on my laptop.
WOOOOOW, it's incredible all the features they packed in that app!!
Almost everything is accessible/possible though my iPhone 7 Plus: launching/recording clips and scenes, doing some audio and midi editing, controlling midi keyboard/pads, triggering devices parameters, using a configurable mixer....
I have even access to user library presets and my samples folders
That's just insane!!!!!

I;ve been on the fence with purchasing touchable for a long time... can ipad users chime in? Is it a good companion to the Push?
Its really great because you can control two different things at the same time. For instance, a device on Push and the mixer with Touchable. Having a more portable device with Push like controls is also a big win. My main concern with Touchable is that it might not getting developed anymore.
Touchable was rock solid (and feature packed) when I was focused on Live, haven't used it in a while though.
I was a bit miffed when they dropped XP support for the server application a few years back (from memory) but ... well, it's 2018, right?
I personally love Imaginando's Ableton app.
I’m a big big fan of Touchable on iOS. I’ve used all of the different ones, Lemur, LK, and Conductr, and well i find Touchable the best from a feature and functionality standpoint.

Overview video

And here’s the track from the above photo:
Just used Quanta for all the synthy bits and a default drum kit in Ableton for the drums.
Man, Quanta is going to change everything on iOS.
I'll chime in. I love it. And i've barely begun to use all its features.
In the last years since 1.0 its gone from strength to strength
Lovely!
You must have good coffee!
Relating to granular synthesis, you're probably right, although we already have great alternatives.
TouchAble is the most feature-rich Live remote, although I tend to prefer LK for simple clip launching and piano roll editing. For everything else, I'll grab the mouse anyway.
Just interested because i'm a Mac guy too. why Ableton and not Logic?
It's common in desktop/laptop music production world to say that the best DAW is the one which suits best your worfkow.
Most DAWS have a linear timeline sequencer approch, like Logic. Ableton LIVE has this linear arrangement system, but also a more intuitive way of doings things, based on clip and scenes grid. It's very powerful for creating live arrangements, but also just for pure sound design/shaping, or simple audio/midi creation. It has also huge audio and midi routing capabilities, powerful racks system, ultra versatile timestretch/warping algorythms, very nice and creative audio/midi devices, powerful freezing system, extensive midi/OSC assignments like with Touchable, and much much more.
Here is an article which gives a good summup:

I became so much dependant to Ableton Live arrangement/session views for track creation, and to its sound design capabilities, that I always try to replicate that workflow on iOS, even if iOS music allowed me to find ultra inspiring new worfkows too.
You should try Ableton Live demo if not already made:

Yes that's about the same things i notices other people saying about Ableton. It sounds like it will suit me so i really want to join the party but i also really like the easy transitions between Garageband(IOS) and Logic and i'm wandering what will benefit me more in the long term.
I'm asking because i can still get the educational discount on Ableton (but not for long).
That’s a good point. If you use GB a lot on iOS, which has reached some pretty good stability with audio units, using Logic will be faster. Some other iOS apps have very nice Ableton export like Blocswave, Groovebox, Gadget... works flawlessly too. It all depends on the kind of projects (stems or complex arrangements) you do on iOS side before going laptop.
Concerning Touchable, what misses me is arrangement view recording control, with A B locators moving, loop on/off, etc... As I want to record my sax easily too without using laptop touchpad. Don’t know if LK do better, but from what I’ve seen I don’t think so.
Definitely GB. It's far above the rest for me. Touch instruments is exactly my thing.
Well it’s a workflow preference. I just love the modular nature of Ableton and the Clips based workflow makes my brain happy.
i feel like it will work for me too. I wish there was a GB to Ableton export. I guess i can't have it all.
Do you use GB live loops mode to arrangement mode for creation? Very similar workflow to Ableton Live session view to arrangement view.
I do, i think it's great. Maybe the Logic team is taking notes from Ableton. Maybe we'll see more of that in Logic in the future.
It’s all about your workflow and needs. Use what makes sense and helps you to create faster and feel more in tune with your creativity.
I also like recording my guitar and vocals and i think Logic is great with that along with the GB transitions. But i feel like i'm missing out on that Ableton workflow and EDM features. It's a tough one.
The lite version comes free with a bunch of different gear and apps. If you own Gadget you’re entitled to a free copy of it.
Wish Touchable would implement this.. Snapshots...
Don’t believe that Liine killed this off..
Wow...that's crazy cool....wish it were still around
I discovered it too late.. it was gone...
It’s was sick... I think Ableton’s ‘capture and insert’ is lame.. this was way ahead of its time.. Now NI Maschine has Lock.. But I think this is better..
