Saxloops mini tutorial: how to use GarageBand merge feature

I’ve made this short tutorial to quickly show how to merge tracks in GarageBand, using in this example AU FX Replicant 2 to add variations to drum parts, how to copy from arrangement view to loop view, how to use merge song copy archive to copy paste previous parts/tracks in new song, and how to save channel preset (works with AU instruments and AU fxs too).

  • This is amazing! I thought I was pretty good with GarageBand, but I learned at least three really useful new things.

Cool! GarageBand is not that well documented, lot of nice features are hidden like most things on iOS. Like iMessages you can swipe on the left to have date information!

  • Awesome one! Knew about the merge function, but have not been using it, so this is a refresher

But the channel preset is new to me, and didn't think about using replicant on just a segment, for variation, like you did. This is awesome for fills

BTW just watching your KRFT videos. I didn't care too much for it because I thought it would be something like PlayGround or Beatsurfing. But it seems way more powerful :open_mouth:

  • Interesting. Would have liked a voiceover explaining what you were doing exactly...

  • Very helpful! Thank you very much!

Glad you liked the tips, fills making but also KRFT tutorial :) KRFT used with AUM is hugely powerful. I just wait for a better AUV3 sample player option than Reslice.
