  • I am using it a lot -- I only wish you could move markers around after creating the.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I've mostly been using it as an aid in doing vinyl capture. The final stages of repair I do on my desktop with an awesome java app called ClickRepair which is like magic

I used it for cutting purposes, but did not use any plugins / effects

It can do plenty of effects (hit the gears icon) but the things I most use it for are normalizing at less than 100% and also converting file types.

I use it mostly for adding tags and converting file types, and normalization. It’s one of the few ways to convert to mp3 on iOS. It’s also very handy for fades and the like.

I would use it exclusively if it had a bpm based ruler and grid snap. Because it doesn’t have this, I never use it for trimming for loops. I use AudioShare for that.

  • I prefer the Hokusai 2 editor, especially it noise reduction feature

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Does Hokusai have any bpm awareness and ability to snap to beat divisions on a grid?

no, just a timeline in min/sec - but I don't get Hokusai's purpose at all, let alone in this context.
As always Ferrite by the same developer does this job much better (no beat grid, though).
But you can import a bunch of files into the app (in one go from the front screen).
Then start an empty project by recording some dummy silence, go into edit mode, tap the dummy area and trash it.
A tap on the empty track pops up an import request, showing your just imported files.
Choose one and drag it to the leftmost position, tap right of the formerly imported region for the next import request, drag left until it snaps to it's predecessor and so on...
(the tap on the track is required to avoid the creation of a new track for the import)
Zoom/dragging is very precise and responsive in Ferrite and there are some goodies for level balancing or even AU effects.

  • Thanks for that info. It’s still AudioShare for loops for me then. It’d be nice if AudioShare had just a slightly beefier editor, but I can always turn to TwistedWave for that, or Auria Pro for its audio warp ability.

  • yes, with some routine Audioshare is a surprisingly effective loop cutter.
I also like Twisted Wave and use it for precise operations on fairly silent recordings.
