well, pretty lame result considering that such stuff was accomplished by Prosoniq and Celemony almost a decade ago, at least Prosoniq also using neural network technology.

Celemony has the more convenient user interface approach, so here's an example of Adele's vocals (Rolling in the Deep) extracted and put into a new mix, captured 2011.
I think the novel thing in the OP is that you can click on the instrument in the video to get the isolated sound, so it is not just separating the sound but associating that with the correct player in the video. Clever!
It is maybe not as “surgical” as with Prosoniq but the target is probably not the same. Here, if I understand well, we are more in an immediate and self-service tool that will let anyone redo the sound engineering of what he is listening to...
well, that association with video is trained by 60 hours of deep learning in a simple 2 player scenario. Probably using methods like current cams apply to shoot only when the target smiles. It's corelation of video patterns to spectral patterns.
