Are there any wavefolding fx available?
Otherwise please post your usages and ideas about it.
I know there are synths that use it, not sure which, but are there fx you could apply to a sample? Ios or even vst

Search wavefolder on the app store.
Sorry can’t copy link anymore.

Yeah I should have started by searching, guys, sorry. I’ll check out later when I’m off work.
Thanks!
VunSox!!
Wavefolding, Waveshaping and can even do your sampling.
I think Shaper might do what you’re asking.
Thanks guys I’ll check these all out, and @Jocphone of course VunSox had to do it. I mighty start there as I alteady own it.
Obrigado!
Shaper is a gem!
seja bem-vindo
Have attached a little demo with a sine wave playing and three LFOs modulating FM, wave folding and wave shaping. The distortion on type 'sat' does the wave folding.
EDIT: You might want to turn your headphones/loudspeakers down before you press play
Awesome never knew there was a wavefolder AU
Don’t forget, though – a basic old-fashioned fuzzbox is essentially a wavefolder. Not particularly flexible or variable, perhaps, but it is doing the same kind of process (often a rectification type of wavefolding / waveshaping).
So cool. Thank you.
Audio Damage Grind.
Audulus 3: Either use the WaveFolder module, or use the spline node for any wave shape you like.
zMors Modular also has a simple WaveTable module.
MobMuPlat is another very flexible option but no plug-and-play solution and requires PureData knowledge.
I would choose Audulus because I could "draw" arbitrary waveforms of almost any complexity live, add filters and more FX to further enhance the sound and it wouldn't even take too much time to build the patch.
I think you can do all that in Sunvox too.
Good to know!
Thanks @Jocphone for the example file
And by the way, the visual equivalent of wavefolding? Any photographers with darkroom experience will remember how to do solarisation. What’s happening with solarisation is typically a transfer function where portions of the curve are reversed, and others aren’t.
Here’s some examples of solarisation, but using a technique that (as far as I know) I invented some time ago – digital in-scanner solarisation, whereby the transfer function of the scanner is responsible for solarising at the point of scanning the film (usually mono film, but resulting in a colour solarisation).

My pleasure.
I still find SV one of the easiest all-in-ones to work in.
Just wish the developer would consider taking it AUv3 as it is extremely efficient CPU-wise.
I like both shaper and wave folder. Pretty similar but enough differences to get both. The elephant candy reflection is the 10$ ultra wave shaper it looks like though, Im surprised I missed this! This type of effect with stringed instruments are the funnest to me. It is a very responsive type effect, like dynamics bring out the harsh fm blast and and light pick for controlled klick or bass drum( sounds similar). At first I thought these were just distortion with mad controls but it really can be unique and I think they are not so well known. Hails mate and remember the input signal really really affects how dope the effect is. peace.
