Apple pencil game changer
Oh man finally broke down and got it, and it's nothing short of perfect for what we do ! For adjusting knobs and slide parameters to way better accuracy than I ever got by hand.
It really makes that fine tuning much less stressful ! If you're on the fence, I say go for it.

Totally agree, the Apple Pencil is great for music apps! Not just for sound design, but also performance too (playing pitch bend, filter, etc)
It’s a lot of fun with Finger Fiddle, and of course, BeBot.
Indeed, i really loved the pencil when i tryed it. I really wished they would open it for mac as well.
Strange how Apple often make awesome things but don´t make it available across their hardware line.
Still prefer 3D touch since it´s polyphonic but the pencil is great to get fine editing almost as good as with a mouse/trackpad (for me at least).
I borrowed one from a friend a few months ago when i got a new ipad - tried it out with some music apps a few times over a couple days, but it didn't resonate with me personally. I guess I've totally gotten used to using my fingers after the past 6-7 years...
you can also use it as a midi controller
in tc data app. i haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but i’m guessing is gonna be very expressive judging by the parameter options.
That looks like an iPad Pro 12? Do you still feel its a great accessory with a 12" iPad?
I used to have a Air 2 and found it too fiddly to change some buttons sometimes (some apps with a busy GUI were totally unusable for example) then I upgraded to an iPad pro 12", oh my, what a difference the larger screen makes. Now I have no issue with small fiddy buttons. (And if anybody was on the fence regarding going for the largest iPad, go for it, its wonderful).
But do you still think there's a great step up with getting the pencil even with an iPad 12"?
I don’t use mine very often. I used it a lot the first week and thought it was really cool. I use it more frequently with LumaFusion than anything. I’ve occasionally used it in BeatMaker3 but really don’t find it useful for many music apps. It can help to get a more precise value by limiting the amount of parameter jump you get when taking your finger off the screen. My biggest reason for rarely using it is I find myself having to juggle the thing around all the time and get really annoyed with it. It goes from my right hand, my left hand, under my chin, pinched between my lips, etc... Then I put it away and feel free again.
Until then....enter AstroPad
Sorry, never heard about AstroPad...have to investigate.
Hi, what synth is that you're using with Cubase?
Edit: Sorry, wrong answer.
it's this https://www.sequencer.de/blog/pulsar-p900-moog-modular-5he-plugin/32422
That’s Logic Pro X by the way
Then my answer was right. It‘s P900 best sounding synth ever. Was close to be released on iOS but then Moog entered with Model 15 and the developer decided against iOS. Very sad since P900 sound much better and can do more.
My favorite synth ever so far.
Mac only and development seems to be stopped as well so far. Still love it!!
That's dope ! I have tc11 but not data, maybe it'll still be useful tho, I'll peep the settings
Haha ya I get that, it can get in the way if I'm not at my studio desk where I can just set it down, but in studio it's a great tool...
And the dreaded parameter jump, I hate it, and some sliders, like in axon are just to fkn small to move, I look like an idiot trying to get a hold of em to adjust em 😂😂
I love the pencil so far it's fun and quick by see your point
I do not have the 12, I have the latest pro.
With that huge screen it may not be needed, but I still think it's lots of fun... The knobs catch quicker to pencil than my finger especially in apps like groovebox where when I try to adjust a knob the screen just shakes as its trying to go thru the other views lol it's annoying.. And it's just fun, typing on Swype keyboard like I am now with one hand is great and quick too
