Rarely use phone for more than sound design down to the lack of bm3 port and AUM being a bit of a nightmare in terms of having to constantly resize au windows and turn phone etc. Loaded spacecraft as an IAA accidentally yesterday and suddenly was like ‘dang, this is waaaaay better!’... automatic full screen. Anyone know if this kind of auto window full size and orientation can be applied to AU too in AUM and is just a matter of AUM implementing it? If not it’s a pretty big benefit of using IAA that I never really experienced before. Can now see why some people are getting bummed about the seeming death of IAA support etc creeping in from some devs. Especially phone users. I know this is all old news to most people, just surprised me on phone how nice it was when I accidentally loaded the IAA vs loading the AU.

I also find many use-cases where IAA is not only still workable but preferred

yah, hosts just need to support AU better overall. There are a few scenarios where I will still take the IAA over the AU but it feels like it is fading fast.

apeMatrix is better suited for iPhone use IMO. I still use AUM for live but much less for creation, for which I prefer apeMatrix. You will not have to switch portrait/landscape like with AUM. On iPhone Plus models, I think most AU GUI sizes works great. I have no issues and still like using nice fullscreen IAA apps like KRFT or Loopy, and even use often Reslice IAA version as it doesn’t have AU fullscreen yet. For effects I use AU only, and for synths more and more AU. Like most, I tend to like having everything saved in one and only app preset/song. I use exclusively a 7 Plus for music since one year, almost never used my Laptop/Ableton setup during this time, and don’t really feel the need for iPad for now. I think it needs some practice to get used to screen size, after that you can do almost everything. On iPhone, GarageBand and apeMatrix starts to be a killer combo.
