@Happyhour welcome!. I feel privileged that your first post is one that offers me some advice...even though it incorrectly suggests I called users 'victims'.
I'm sure many users would love to hear from you just how easy the process of correcting this problem is.... please give us a more detailed breakdown of your solution, thanks.
And just out of interest...who are you, and what is your angle on this? I take it that being as this is your first post, and one to a thread that is 3 months old, this is a topic you were researching.
Do you have user/product experience of the above?
Thanks.
@SpookyZoo, You are privileged indeed as you researched an important issue with iPad audio jack, thank you for that. The only reason I bought iPad 4 was to use it for recording as I was using my iPhone 4 before. I was happy with "poor" iRig quality as it is many times better than quality of my playing, moreover I use digital port for MIDI input,
The term victims was used 4 posts above this (for jamup et al.), and 3 posts above it was stated that it is "completely hardware issue". It's not final verdict though. There are recorders free of that issue - free of mixing audio input with currently sounding audio, jamup and amplitube are in that number. How do they do that if this is hardware issue? The way to correct it easily - is the way for apps developers not the users and guitar players like me.
Thanks for the followup @Happyhour. Which are the apps you have found to not be affected by the headphone input on iPad4. Would be very interested in this info. And also to do some testing.
@Spookyzoo, jamup has free two track recorder that I tried. Also tried either amplitube or ampkit free recorders, do not remember for sure. All works there - complete track separation, no crosstalk of in and out signals. Loopy hd has input and output signal meters and because of that is ideal to observe this effect. I plug irig and guitar. The output and input are totally independent. I plug my phones and input meter starts repeating the currently sounding output. I tried different phones just did not try high impedance devices, like input to a home stereo, gonna try soon.
So you're saying when you monitor using the iPad speaker, there's no crosstalk in the headphone circuit?...
I do not use ipad speaker at all. I do not use audiobus. Just strait to jamup
@PaulB In case of loopy hd I plug phones into irig audio interface. And when I do this I observe crosstalk starting. I see it in newly recorded loop or simply by looking at signal meters. Speaker is off the moment when i plug irig
Has it occurred to you that when there is no crosstalk, it's because no output is being supplied to the headphone circuit? That's where the bleed through occurs. The headphone output is actually switched off if it's not being used.
It occurred to me. But I disregard it as there are applications which handle this without any noticible bleeding. So it should not be valid explanation.
Well, you're wrong. Good luck finding a solution.
