Ableton Link click out question [solved]
Sorry for the crap title but I wasn’t able to condense it enough to be comprehensible.
So, I want to send a constant click to a drummer, independently of whether the other apps are playing or not.
I guess the app should be capable of:
A. Sending link ticks out to the hardware/software
B. Have a separate start and stop midi learn so I can only use start since I want the app to just roll on and provide drummer with reference of beat/link whereabouts.
I’ve tried having another instance of Loopy but it only has toggle session start/rewind and it will stop when I press stop for other apps’ transport. I’ve assigned another separate button for that but I’d rather have it all on one start button.
Hope I’m making sense! Thanks

are you using an audio device? or you want to only use the stereo outputs on the ipad? With AUM you can assign the metronome to any output your audio device has.
I’m using an multiple out audio interface. The problem is that AUMs metronome stops when I stop the transport while what I want is for it to keep ticking!
@j_liljedahl
Make a beat on Figure to act as metro , place it inside AUM , let it play and mute unmute the channel in AUM
I need something that will start when I start other Linked apps but doesn’t stop with them. Decent suggestion though
Yes. Does it send any clock information out?
The two scenarios could be:
I suppose it doesn’t have a metronome, why would it?
How about this?
The Metronome by Soundbrenner fra Soundbrenner

TE tuner works I believe in the way you want. @supadom
Cheers man. I’m actually quite surprised that the metronome is linked to the sequencer as opposed to Link. After all it should be a guide to the tempo when there’s no other reference available,
My question is why stop the click going to the drummer at all? My drummer just takes the monitor out of his ear when he doesn't want to hear the click.
Or give a midi mute command to the click channel
Hmmmm I don’t understand .If someone wants the metronome always running during playback then there is no need to start on playback .
Uh, isn't that how Link works? As long as he establishes the host tempo first it'll always follow the host regardless of start/stop and tempo changes.
Beat detect is handy - as you can see where in the link cycle you are.....

Hmmmm, but my understanding is that the link quantum continues even if you use the global start/stop. So even if you stop the host, it waits until the next bar if you start again. Am I mistaken?
Soundbrenner has Link Sync Start/Stop/ midi, Bluetooth, Foot pedal inputs & more. Unless i am completely misunderstanding your set-up, I'm pretty sure this was designed to do exactly what you are trying to do. Base app is free, & it's universal. i have it on an iPhone 5c & use it as a master clock.........
No need to buy one of the pulse thingies if your drummer has an iPhone/iPad, just send the click to that......
Nope , you are right but it’s not an issue .
Korg sync kontrol?
OK folks problem solved. It was so obvious it's in the title.
LINK TO MIDI!
fire up, connect to link, point at midi destination, press start. That's all.
I have a little Zoom drum machine set to metronome. It picked up the pulse right away and was happy clicking into oblivion.
