I would just like to say thanks to all those who are taking the time to listen to tracks I post on here, I have posted on Twitter and Instagram when I release tracks with only a murmur of listens, If I post tracks on here then I am getting a good number of plays (for me anyway :D )

    I always enjoy hearing stuff from you brother. This whole community is very supportive and sincere.

    On a side note I had been hearing about the Choon (choon.co) streaming site for independent musicians for awhile and when you posted your last track I saw you were doing it off Choon.

    So I looked into it and signed up, seems like a decent SoundCloud alternative. I've been pretty busy but I'm trying to finish up a few tracks and remaster a few others, I'll post them to Choon as well as SoundCloud and experiment with it.

    Thanks Bud, it's nice to have people listening, and to get feedback, I've spent years making tunes and them never getting heard by anyone other than those I managed to trap in the car when I put them on the stereo (once moving at over 30 mph so they couldn't jump out) :D

    re Choon, nice idea to be able to get paid, even a small amount, without having to charge people to listen, still in beta....no payments yet (coming september afaik)

    There are some drawbacks (but free account on SC has similar limitations)

    • No real-time stats on plays, it gets updated overnight, you get a daily email with your stats for the previous day.
    • No stats on where listens come from, all you can tell is if it is a direct play, or play through a playlist (I created a playlist so I could tell which came from direct track posts and which from playlist post, would be a pita if running a few campaigns though.)
    • No promotional tools - it's all manual, so copying links to playlists/tracks/artist and manually pasting into posts on different platforms (TW/IG/FB etc...) Still, its free so not complaining :)
    • No embedded player available, meaning users are taken away from where they were when they clicked the link.
    • Site isn't amazingly pretty, it allows for use of artwork for tracks, glad I invested in Affinity Designer now :)

    Still early days and very promising, and if your going to upload to SC for free anyway, then definitely worth a shot :)

    Just wanna back @AndyPlankton up in saying a big thanks to you guys. Your positive support has helped me in making music I’ve always wanted to after always found reasons not to.
