Steinberg's VST Transit Go - Musical Collaboration App is Free on the App Store
You can get it HERE:
This is an app that allows you to collaborate with others on iOS and desktop. It used to work only with Cubase, but apparently now it can work with any DAW.
It is a subscription service. 99 cents gets you 1.5 GB storage and 3 GB traffic.
$2.99 gets you 3 months, 2.5 GB storage and 10 GB storage
There are other plans that give you more months, storage and traffic.
Personally, I have no plans for collaboration, and if I did there are many ways I can do it for free. I'm sure most of us would agree about that.
But this just might be an excellent way for me to make music on the iPad and PC at the same time, particularly because my desktop DAW is Cubase.
What I have been doing is very clunky. It definitely is worth 99 cents for me to try this out.
Steinberg is one of the best DAW companies for iOS IMHO. Cubasis is great, and their Cubase iC Pro is a really superb iPad controller for Cubase. There are many controller apps for desktop DAWs, but few that are made by the companies that made the DAWs.

Saw this as well. Seems pretty cool. I know ProTools came out with their new ProTools First with some collaboration stuff. I have tested out Splice on my laptop and it seemed to work ok but the Ableton project I was testing didn't translate very well to my friend, who as the same plugins as I do. I do remember something a while back similar to this.
I think this could be great, even for backup and like you said, 0.99 a month would not be a bad price just to be able to easily create songs across multiple DAWs and iOS with ease. I myself use both my Mac and iPad, Logic, Ableton live lite, Cubasis, and your always having to bounce audio and import and export, make sure you line up the files correctly, etc. This seems like it would be a fun tool to have.
Steinburg is a reputable company that has been around for a while. They also seem to realize that the iOS platform for music creation is not going anywhere so they seem to be embracing it. I would definitely be down for some collaboration. Might make me more motivated to create more stuff if I can collab with others without the hassle of trying to keep everything in sync using dropbox and other cloud services.
From the pictures and app description it seems to be unclear, as to exactly how you can get audio into the app. It doesn't state Audiobus, IAA, or AU anywhere. It doesnt show up in Audiobus or AUM so unsure if it can host IAA or AU. I also havent paid for any subscription yet.
Too hard to set up an account. I signed into my steinberg, answered all the questions etc but then got told I didn’t have the vst registered to my account. So I’ve lost interest already and deleted it.
Hi,
At the moment VST Transit GO only supports your audio hardware input (microphone or a connected device). Next step is to add IAA.
Have a nice day,

Hi,
Sorry to hear that. But yes : you are right and it is our fault. Users which already have a MySteinberg account can not register VST Transit GO
-> It is already fixed with version 1.0.2 which is coming soon.
But I can register a VST Transit GO license to your MySteinberg account. Just send me message with your credentials (username + password) to
m.spork ( at ) steinberg.de
Have a nice day,
Michael4Steinberg.
Note : MySteinberg accounts with a registered Cubase 8 and up license can run VST Transit GO directly.
