More than you can shake a stick with... i know we’re blessed, but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing... then again, it’s always a nice problem having so many options....
Why stop at synths?
Well, reading this thread finally made me take a good look at myself in the app mirror. I joined this forum April, 22, have visited close to a thousand times (no where near the prizewinning nearly 14,000 by someone we all know and love), fifty some posted discussions and spent about $500 on apps in three months. my name is @ LinearLineman and I am.... I am.... Shit, I don't know what I am!
In my defense, I can say I have also gained about fifteen pounds in those three months which is proof that I take time out to eat.
Also, that $500 is about a third of what my relatively new Roland FA07 cost and has been a hundred times more fun!
I have four synths, Thor, SM1, iM1 and AudiokitSynthOne. Gadget I uninstalled. I would add Kauldron if you twisted my arm. No pattern makers/Arps like Fugue Machine, tho I admire that stuff. The rest is Cubasis, half a dozen effects and instruments, heavy in the virtual acoustics. My favorite app...CB
My fav instrument Ravenscroft piano. Latest discovery, Beathawk's great sounds.
I sold my Steinway B and plan to buy a new iPad in September. Does that tell you something? Sixteen men on a dead man's chest. Yohoho and a barrel of fun!
I seem to be constantly on a cycle through those apps that I have, asking myself the question, "are you USING this?", and if the answer is NO, I flog myself for having made an impulsive purchase, or I try to spend a day or two getting more familiar with those neglected apps in case I missed something. I don't have nearly as many as others above have indicated, so I rationalize that "I'm not as bad as SOME folks I know!". [smirk]. Sometimes this forum just pumps up the buzz too much for me to ignore a purchase, and of course "it's on sale!" makes me worry I'll regret not having taken advantage of it later (when I find out it's the best app EVERRRR...). Right now, with only 3 days left in July, I must have read through the description of Egoist a dozen times already. Should I? Shouldn't I? Will this be just another app in the rotation. It's sooooo hard.... [sigh].
You are goood... I got straight A's in Rationalization too... [grin].

Believe it or not I'm a synth tragic, having been introduced to the likes of M1, D550, TX802, K1 and others by my teacher in the late nineties. Now and again he'd bring over synth and let me play with it for the week. Swell guy!!
I'm still counting
56 iOS synths here. Not including every Synth in Korg Gadget. Sunrizer is the one I use far more than any of the others, but they’re all very lovely and yummy, aren’t they? 😉 Can never have too many! 🎹🎛🎚🎹🎛🎚
Where do you draw the line for what is a synth and what is not?
Awesome 👏
@[Deleted User] , you caused me to read my post again. Since I wrote that the Apple affiliate development has arisen. I have been Thinking a lot about @Michael's (and the others, of course), but particularly, Michael's situation. While I have been having all the fun associated with my post, and the pleasure the forum has brought me, I never stopped to think of the cost involved personally to Mr. Tyson. My thoughts lead me to considering how I can help and give back to Michael some of what he has given to me. I see there is discussion starting on the Apple affiliate thread. I will have my say there.
Just over 50 iOS synths. Many vst/au synths but 99% of them are free or in Logic.
About 15 hardware synths including rack units, groove-boxes and drum-machines.
5 guitars, 1 bass.
Aouchh, it was a hard week for my wallet...
What is the effect under Chmplr?
The fizzy blue one?
It's Bleass Shimmer...me love it.
Ah, cool.
It is on my list.
Thank you.
😊
watch scrollbar size... sorry, i haven't time to count them all ))
