Maybe something's about to happen, Mathiew edited the November 2017 BeatMaker 3.0.10 is now LIVE announcement just a few days ago.
Have faith people! And no more daft rumours that might put anyone off buying the app!!
Let’s cheer Intua on and buy a few soundpacks while you’re at it.
(Hehe, yah I already posted this on the Intua forum but couldn’t resist...)
No they don't, the only conversation that was deleted was some idiot who demanded that Intua owed him because he bought Beatmaker 2 and 3 and then persisted in calling not only the developers names but also the forum users too, that isn't even slightly stuffy.
5pinlink the moderator edited that post and even wrote at the bottom of the post that he did so.
My sarcasm didn't come through..although it does sound good in garageband. But yes, more limited than it once was.
Do you reckon maybe the alien mothership had landed and now it’s time for the Intua team to take their vastly superior technology back home as Humans don’t deserve it what with all their war and hate ?
Most plausible speculation yet.
Alien mothership driven by Steve Jobs, actually.
Ok...
Lol, this thread...
Indeed, abusing BeatTime could be fun though...
I got some good juice from ‘rusty trumpet’ a while ago.
I've got a 2016 9'7" Pro, 256GB. At first the thought of no 3.5 jack was an instant turn off. Then I thought about it and realized I never use it (on the Ipad) anyway. For the very rare occasions that I might need to use it there is a lightning-to-3.5 adapter.
Some tips for having a good time with BM3 in it's current state:
Use scenes not song mode.
Take advantage of it being a killer sampler rather than a DAW
Don't load up on AU or IAA, do one thing at a time and commit to audio.
Sync by ear.
Avoid playing apps from BM3 unless you like hitting the MIDI panic button constantly.
If recording audio via an interface, keep the buffer high (256+)
What I'm hoping for in 3.1:
Better audio track monitoring options. The current way is stupid (if it's off it should always be off)
Option to print FX on audio tracks (current behaviour) or not print FX (Like most DAW behaviour)
Custom chord pads.
If you're having problems with crashing you should try limiting the way you use BM3 to how I have suggested. You will no longer waste precious time!
I use song mode, not scene mode, although I do select scenes via the scene selector thing in the top left while in song mode. But yah, I never go in scene mode. I like slicing/merging clips far too much.
I consider it a Sawmpler
Or load up on AU and IAA... commit to audio whenever, like I do...
Playing apps?
1024 24/7 here baby!
Plus recording to audio tracks sometimes looks like it is working but then it just doesn't record... after several minutes... grr
I only seem to crash when I go above 64 slices on a sample in the slicer editor. Some AUs make things more crashy for me (like automating Shaper, instacrash). For the most part I am pretty-crash free. I have to stay under three instances of Synthmaster One on my pad. Out of curiosity which ipad you on?
Apple having third parties in the loop is an exceedingly rare thing. I seriously doubt anyone or anything in the music scene is big enough for them to even consider such a thing. If you’re EA or Disney or Affinity.. maybe. Music app developer? Unlikely.
Yes, Mathieu is a brilliant chap.
In a way Rozeta was a very close collab between me and Jonatan of AUM. AU MIDI didn’t exist yet and I developed the plugins while he was simultaneously implementing support for them in AUM. It was the best (and only) way to solve the chicken/egg problem of getting a new plugin standard going
Having just downloaded Rozeta tonight, I have to say it’s freeking brilliant. I’m hoping to use it in BM3 but I’ll use Cubasis if I must. The challenge will be not letting Rozeta completely taking over. 😁
Or at least create a mechanism to share code with each other so that your apps can continue to be supported if you happen to go ‘off grid’ or move on to other things...
Hehe, I was just getting reabsorbed into Rozeta the past couple hours. Cubasis has definitely pulled ahead for me, certainly Rozeta has played a role in that. Sigh, wish I could Frankenstein Cubasis and BM3.
Agreed, add AUv3 versions of all the Gadgets to it and well...
...I'm really falling in deep for Sunvox again
(I'm happy NightRadio expressed some interest in a few of my crazier ideas and apparently scheduled time for implementation, yay!).
I heard the lightning headphone adapter forces the iOS device to a 48khz sample rate.
Love it!
