Any chance of logic for ios ? đ
Worked last time, trying again đ

LOL, GarageBand is yet to receive an update with proper support for AUv3 Midi Plug-Ins and AUv3 effects that accept Midi-Input.(Pro-Q 2 still doesn't work). But we never know what Apple cooks up when iOS12 drops...
It would be kinda ironic for Apple to demo GarageBand on the iPad if they remove the 3.5mm jack and replace it with high-latency AirPods
Apple want your $199. So theyâll keep trickling half-assed Garbage Band updates for free and get your $199 for Logic when you decide to cave in.
Apple doesn't sell Logic as a money maker. At $200, they're practically giving it away. They could get much more for it if they wanted. GarageBand is amazing for a free app. If Logic isn't on iOS, it must be that iOS isn't ready to handle it, and/or Apple doesn't think Logic would sell enough iOS devices to make it worth the resources to make that happen.
I know it's difficult, but try to see it from Apple's point of view. Making Logic (a version comparable to desktop) work decently on iOS would be a big undertaking. Why do they need to do that when GarageBand is already great for the vast majority of iOS customers? Music makers on iOS, especially the more demanding kind, are a small niche market.
BTW, GarageBand on desktop is free, and I believe it's quite powerful.
Plus $xxxx for a Mac to run it on. For me itâs IOS or nothing regarding music software.
200$ for logic is nothing. I dont think thats the reason
Which ipad do you have?
How many apps did u buy last year?
They use logic as an incentive to buy Mac that is why it is so cheap.
I already have Logic Pro X on my Mac but I wish to run it on my iPad too even if it only included the stock plug-ins and sub-set of the factory content to save space. (I can always make my own samples using the synths and AUv3's).
Most of the Logic tools wouldnât be usable on a small touch screen (but some of the updated GUIâs look like they would).
You will never see a huge DAW like Logic on iOS since it makesno sense on iOS.
Indeed is Logic a bargain since you get content worth 1000âs.
In itâs current form no one would like to use it on a touch screen.
Then better use Bitwig or FL-Studio.
Itâs anyway ever thing faster without multi-touch on mac and you have an open file system.
Simple said, Logic is no iOS DAW.
The closest would be maybe Auria and i found that terrible to use.
Still think that NS2 will be as good as it gets for a DAW on iOS.
Even if they could port Logic for multi-touch it wouldnât be good for competition. Maybe good for AUv3 only developers but most apps would be obsolete then on iOS. So beware what you wish for.
Logic is no bargain. As in âfreeâ or cheap. You pay up the wazoo for a new or used MacBook. Youâve already been charged for the rest of the cost of Logic Pro by Apple in one way or another . They got their money
if they made an iPad this big, they should port Logic to iOS.
(Multi-touch /Studio One )
or do you find Cubasis on 12.9 ipad comfortable?
workable yes, but comfortable?
Yes, this. If they also released it for $200 on PC, only then would it be a bargain.
But this translate to all devices.
Try Bitwig on these new Surface Go and then you know how much you would like Logic on an iPad.
For multi-touch gestures there are enough options on top via the trackpad which works accurate without my fat fingers hiding the screen
Logic is the best bargain ever in music production....free updates for years. Best thing i ever bought.
Doesnât have to be a MacBook â I got rid of my MacBook Pro a couple of years ago when I got my (previous) iPad Pro, and just used one of my Mac Mini computers for LPX. Mac Minis are handy (avoid the low-end one though, too slow to do anything on â thatâs what my other Mac Mini is, and I tend not to use it except as backup).
The point is that Logic is a super bargain for Mac users.
Yes, Mac hardware is expensive. If one is only buying a MacBook for Logic, then thereâs some logic to say the package ainât cheap. But if one has a Mac anyway, and uses it for other things too, like Adobe suite, Final Cut (which runs real nice on a Mac), etcâŚ, Logic Pro is a killer deal.
When I first bought a Mac, they werenât as expensive. I compared Logicâs price to other major DAWs, and it was easy for me to see the best choice. Comparing to Windows machines was meaningless because I didnât want another PC.
+1
For the same reason Final Cut Pro X won't make it to the iPad and all we get is iMovie.
For the same reason Steinberg released a skimped down version of Cubase as Cubasis.
For the same reason IL released a simped down version of FLStudio as FLSM.
For the same reason a skimped down version of GB exists on iOS.
Yep. But it would be great if Apple could add some of the great tools into GB iOS or give us MainStage for iOS.
If i had a top 5 single tools to choose from Logic i would take Sculpture (but GUI is still old style), Chromaverb (really awesome reverberation and great for sound design in general, GUI looks perfect for iPads as well), Delay Designer (sadly still no updated GUI), Space Designer and StepFX (by far my favorite multiFX now....awesome snappy envelopes, modulations and really super comb filters).
But as long as even the iOS Garage Band is far behind the mac version (but of course with touch optimized tools) we can wait years for Logic iOS.
But even if it´s cheap for a DAW it´s almost always in the top payed apps. I guess they still make some good money with it. Can´t wait for Logic 10.5.....
Yeah definitely. In 2011, I bought a Mac Mini, Magic Mouse, and Bluetooth keyboard. I already had a monitor from my PC, so I saved a few bucks. But even after taxes, it was just over $800. Throw Logic on top of that, and they get a cool grand out of you. They know what theyâre doing. 7 years, later, I still never pulled the trigger on Logic. I bought the Mac for Reason and Iâll most likely build another PC for it when Iâm ready to upgrade. The Mac has been trouble-free the whole time, which is a good thing. But Iâd rather get a lot more performance for my money. I started building PCs 20 years ago. So it ainât no big thing for me to go back.
I was close to switch as well to PC and demoed all major DAW´s i could but it seems i´m too deep into Logic these days that they got me indeed with it. Alone the stock Logic instruments are much better than what i found in other DAW´s for my personal needs. Alchemy alone with all it´s content which you got for free in Logic costs over a grand when it was under camel Audio. Some of the tools in Logic are in a class of it´s own and sadly i found nothing which could replace them. So even if i pay a grand more for a macbook i got more value and i guess more free big updates are coming. Core Audio is another thing i would miss and i don´t have to care about driver at all.
Core Audio and MIDi really do work wonderfully. Iâm also aware that Logic seems to handle resources a lot better than Reason. Logic handles VSTs much better as well. Iâm still waiting for Reason to have VST 3 compatibly, so I can check out all the synths on Roland Cloud. Thatâs been as tempting as everything else Iâve seen added to Logic over the past 7 years. But I know Iâm gonna run into CPU issues with the Jupiter 8 plugins on this machine. So Iâll wait a little longer. No rush to upgrade now. What my machine can handle in Reason and my JP-8080 running into it with the VST editor, I really have more than enough of what I need at the moment. Everything else is just ice on the cake, as tempting as it is,
iPadâs are great now but to think they could run anything like the full Logic is a bit optimistic. GarageBand is already great and only needs a few features.
199 for Logic, and 299 for Final Cut, are the best bargains there have ever been in software land. Ridiculous. The updates flow consistently and bring more great stuff. How spoiled we all are.
In logic for ios, i mean just the logic workflow. Normal mixer, normal arrangement, automation, diff time sigs, etc. like cubasis . just a step up from garageband.
Because garageband will never get those features - it doesnt have them on macos either.
I would still pay for the Alchemy modFX. Yes, i said it often already but i don´t know what magic it does. I really NEED this as FX AU and AUv3 please. Another reason i love Logic since it´s the only place where i can mangle samples due to Alchemy trough it.
Another example since it´s hard to describe. A layered sound from Alchemy and P900 for a bit growly lows.
First minute is the already nice layered pad with modFX muted and then the same midi with the (very slow modulated) modFX within the Alchemy part. Here it´s decent but i love how it sounds like a flanger but a lot more musical in terms of what overtones, harmonics and whatever it creates and goes along well with the other layer.
After the 2CAudio stuff and Replika XT (N.I. delay) it´s my favorite FX you would need to take out of my dead cold hands. Still searching for something like this....
Saying Logic Pro is a bargain on MacBook Pro is like âFree chicken wings at happy hourâ, or âTwo slices pizza $5.99, includes free can of sodaâ
As long as Apple owns both Logic and Garageband, answer is no.
What would be great is if Apple releases Logic, GB, Final Cut, iMovie, Photos, Messages, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, etc on Windows!!! And at least some of them on Android
People like to dream... problem is living expecting dreams come true instead make them happen with actual tools.

Ahhh, got it. No Mac software, even free, is a bargain because the hardware is expensive. We've been enlightened.
iPads with more RAM would be needed to make it work well.
The graphics RAM on the MacBooks is separate from the system RAM. ON the iPad a lot of the 4GB iPad Pro RAM is also used for processing graphics so you have less than 4GB for a Music App. If they just threw out a lot of CPU/RAM intensive features and still called it Logic Pro the users would be outraged.
They would want Project portability to keep working while on the road or vacation.
Now in a few years when the iPad market starts to infringe on the MacBook revenue and iPads get a lot more resources maybe there would be a crossover point where iPad Apps are the hot market. Then I would want my iPad to have a lot more external interfaces for lots of Project Storage, Audio interfaces for lots of
mic/instrument input and a lot of audio outs for buses and 5.1 audio.
We probably won't see Ableton or Protools anytime soon either unless it's a totally re-designed product like Steinberg did with Cubasis.
