E-drums app

Anyone got an idea which would be the best app for e-drums, looking at Drumperfect pro or Drum Session.

I just want to trigger the drum sounds in the app with an e-drum kit and do some recording , building tracks , which has the best sounding kits? can I build custom kit?. I like the fact drumperfect has a mixer but in the end it mostly comes down to the quality of the kits and individual sounds.

DrumPerfect Pro then. It has the best kit possibilities by far. The included kits are good, but you can also roll your own with a very deep sample engine. If also found Drum Session to be pretty unstable, while DPP has been rock solid.

    IMO, of course.

  • Kinda assuming you are talking about realistic sounding drum kits, if so, I find building custom multi velocity kits easiest in BeatMaker. Yes you can do this in DrumPerfect, but it takes me a lot longer.

OK thanks , I think I will def go with DPP especially as all the other features are very usable. I already own BM3 so I may try what Multicellular suggests, though I would have no idea how.

  • Here’s a link to a realistic set of samples of a jazz funk kit with up to 9 layers.

I’ve got these loaded into BM3 and they sound fantastic! Also check out the Acoustic Drums expansion in BeatHawk.
