  • Thick or thin, pro line should distinguish itself by additional connectivity. And while the only additional port is restricted to a single accessory actual useful and widely used port being removed. Just doesn't make sense.
If there is a demand for a thinner iPad make the consumer line thinner and let those who are willing to pay the extra money, enjoy the extra connectivity with bigger batteries.

I wonder how you would do the ‘quick refresh trick’ (or whatever it is called) for killing IAA ghosts without the home button. Having to reboot would be annoying,

What is the trick with the home button?

Hold down the power button and when the power off slider appears you hold the home button down instead and it does a quick memory refresh of sorts.

    Thanks

I love my Air 2. The 2018 iPad might be more powerful, but the difference in handling is very noticeable. IMHO for casual users (which is the biggest audience by far) thinner is better.

For a Pro device this is probably less of an issue, as I suspect they're moved around less often, but then you can also make a case for 'Pro' connections. If I'm serious about my sound, my external DAC is connected and my wired headphones go in there. Not in my iPad.
