Physics based generative sequencer with midi out? Musyc Pro with midi?
Does anyone know of any physics based generative apps like Musyc Pro that can output midi?
Comments
Rozeta Collider for sure. Probably Physicles too, but I haven't tried that one yet.
Yes "Physicles" is a free MIDI AUv3 app from the developer of Sequencism (also free). These App are free because the developer is prevented from making money due to his "day job" I think.
Physicles lets you drop physical "balls" (which get mapped to a midi note) in square or trigular spaces and bounce around.
Excellent for generating a kind of non-rhythmic/randomized sequence that's unique with every run. Works well in Cubasis and
AudioBus. How many other MIDI FX AUv3 hosts are there?
Dhalang MG has great physics based particle generators with midi out. Seems many of the regulars here find the interface too esoteric, but I love it. Was using it just the other day for the physical particle generators alone with midi out.
There’s a free try out version too, but I don’t know if the free version lets you use midi out. Though, you could try it out for free just to see if you jive with the interface.
Not mentioned yet:
NodeBeat
SoundCells (but I think it has been removed from the store)
Calestis (same)
Amos (same)
This in Lemur.
I was just rediscovering nodebeat the other day as strictly midi controller. Such a gem!
It really is great as a midi controller.
I will use it for awhile, put it away, forget about it, rediscover it.
Rediscovery is always fun with it.
Rediscovering apps I already have is how I’ve been keeping appaholism somewhat in check.
That is what I have been doing as well.
That and not updating to iOS 11.
But whatever happened to Musyc Pro? I can get lost for hours with this fun app, but it seems it has been abandoned by the Dev, too bad. A long while back I recall talk of it being updated to output midi, it’s a shame this never happened. There is a lot of wasted potential...and while they’re at it, they could update sweet little BeBot to output midi also. please.
Hey, hey...h e y shhhhh. Stop telling everyone my secret. ;P
