@pmh can you share some of your music/sets with us?

Sure, will do ASAP! I'm literally typing from crappy hotel wifi just now but will be back home in just over a week.

So far i'm mostly messing with patterning, samplr, crystal etc and exporting to audioshare then back into remixlive, which seems to be working out. Still trying to find a good multifx processor though after all this time (I thought flux would be it but it's really badly supported and doesn't work properly with audio bus etc). Making a lot of use of resampling between the various apps and just getting lost in that, and I think a combination of remixlive, patterning, a live looper app of some sort for audio, running everything through audiobus and AUM will be the solution for live performance..... getting there (or getting somewhere at least).

Based on your original request in terms of arrhythmic or "weird" timings... Keep in mind that when you load clips into LaunchPad you can set the quantize... So you can launch on bar boundaries, 4tr note, etc.

This allows for some REALLY cool happy accidents when you launch several basic rhythms on non-standard beat divisions.

Good shout Drumunkey; this is one of my very favourite things to do in Ableton actually (as well as making duplicates of rhythms, adjusting the loop brace on the second copy and launching them together so they tumble over each other in a cannon). Will explore in Launchpad.

Heya - So novation's app 'LaunchPad' isn't so bad, plus its summer sale currently, you can get the IAP's which enable audio import etc for half off, $7. Decent - I have been exporting stuff out of BM3 as loops and it works great so far...

I like using Launchpad, but getting clips in is painful. You have to use “open in...” to import one sample at a time as far as I can see, which is absurd. Is there a better way?

You can load entire directories of samples/clips.

    1) Open AudioShare
    2) Open LaunchPad
    3) "re-open" AudioShare as a slideover from task bar
    4) Navigate to your directory of clips
    5) Use OpenIn or CopyTo LaunchPad

That sounds neat. Can you open the entire directory of clips at once, or is it still one at a time?

Not sure how it could be any easier...?

Drag and drop from Files would do it.
