Is AUM planning on adding Link start/stop sync?

I would love this feature. I run everything through AUM, yet it seems to be the only app not to support start/stop sync.

I'm currently working on some huge MIDI improvements (already in the beta) and some other things, then I'm planning to update to the latest Link SDK including start/stop sync. After all, I'm one of those who talked Ableton into adding start/stop to Link so it's a bit embarrassing I haven't gotten there yet ;)

  • Great, thanks for the update.

  • @j_liljedahl Really looking forward to the next big AUM update most essential iOS app out there along with Audiobus of course.

    agreed

  • Heavily testing the latest beta, it's really great :)
I couldn't crash it, until now...I keep pushing...
    :D

  • So this comes out today, right?

  • Is this a good or bad idea? Bookmark location available in Midi CTRL.
Then you could assign a CC knob which would scroll around in the AUM interface.

The Midi CTRL menu could be expanded with an "UI" section, similar to "Transport" and "Channels".

That sounds like a fantastic idea to me.

  • Midi Recorder ?

Sounds like a good idea, but to my personal usage, I don't think I'd use it.
I, personally, need more something to reduce/expand multiple channels in one, making some sorts of groups, and something quick, directly on the touch of the screen.
Using an external controller rather of having a simple system on the app, to me, sounds "slower", and a "lost" for precious other midi stuffs to control...
But, again, that's just me, with my workflow...

To be able to multi track midi would be a game changer :#

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Search bar in node picker lists, MIDI recording, grouping channels, and 1000 other things are already on my list of things to either add when I find the time, consider for future updates, or needs thinking more about. Please be patient :)

Very cool! Excited to see what comes!

The big dream would be controller pickup, so when you load a new session you don't have to worry that moving your hardware controller's knobs / sliders would cause a jump in the parameter's value (double-plus amazing points if there was HUD that showed your controller's value in relation to the parameter assigned so you could ease into the value; wildly sweeping your knob to find the current value is almost as bad as a jump....).

A much simpler solution: maybe a way to store a photo in the Notes? This way I could take a picture of my hardware controller and have it on hand when I reload the session.

Also, it would be great if there was view that showed all currently assigned parameters in one place (double-plus amazing points if it showed current values too!). The hierarchical structure in AUM makes assigning parameters to controllers easy, but if you load an older session where you've forgotten what's assigned, you then have to dive into every channel to see what's connected to what, which can be very tedious with big sessions! An overview of current assignments would make the workflow so much simpler!

@j_liljedahl if you’re up for adding to the request list (...) then it would be awesome in AUM if File Picker took you back to the most recent folder rather than having to menu dive from the top again each time

    Thx as ever!

I actually hate the controller pickup in BM3 — causes me a lot of irritation and having to run through ‘pickup rituals’ on startup and shutdown to avoid problems. -1 from me on that!

Is it not already doing that? At least for the same FilePlayer. Or you mean take you back to the folder where you were, even if it was in another FilePlayer?

Sorry, I mean the file player in another channel in the same session. Basically, I record many loops into the same session folder and then select the best ones for the track, one file in each channel. I should probably do a quick vid.

No need for a video, I see what you mean! So basically, each time the FilePlayers file picker view is opened, it would remember where it was last time.

Yes, that would be cool. In the same session at least.

    I would like a combination

    • if it is a new FilePlayer, then open where the last file was loaded from during this session
    • if there is something already loaded in a FilePlayer, open the view in the folder of the file
  • More mix busses!!!

  • Sweet I love these great user ideas!
