@AudioGus or anyone else, I just wanted to check, what happens to your user presets in the IAA version, and samples that you’ve imported etc ? Do you lose them or do they just transfer over to the AU? I’m assuming they do but just want to be doubly sure, as I can’t see where the original IAA versión stored the user presets. I can’t see them on my iPad files app anywhere

Mine did transfer over to the AU and with iCloud activated in Egoist they do show up in files.

  • @universe yes, no problem with "old" files transferring over to AU version, but it did take a while to find the folder in Files. I didn't realize I needed to flip the switch in the Egoist settings screen, but all good after doing so.

  • @lukesleepwalker @AudioGus thanks Guys. I literally haven’t upgraded to egoist AU yet as I wanted to make sure I had enough time to savour it.

    That time has arrived.

    I’m going in ..... !

  • Hmm...Egoist AU’s crashed when I reloaded my previous AUM session, and then when reloading them the slicers were all blank. Bummer.

Having simllar problems, try loading an Egoist preset, then go and try your saved one again. Having crashes with longer samples too.

Anyone using AU in Auria? How is the interface, can it be expanded to show full standalone type layout??

    It's working well for me.

    Thank you kind sir

The GUI doesn't scale correctly inside AB3 (update : scrolling up down is easy on the right side) ,
Plus lost my presets and it crashes often even with the build in presets :(
Update2 launched Egoist as standalone and user presets are shown in AU mode :)

Today I finally connected with Egoist... Holy crapola, super fun!! I made my preset in the standalone, then opened it up as AU in Apematrix, and it worked fine. I'll try and finish a track in the next few days, but I love it!! I was worried I wasted some money buying it, but seems to really shine if you spend the time dialing all the control in. I am just importing my old Maschine loops, (which I always felt bad about - them sitting there bit rotting on a hard drive collecting digital dust, even though they are hooked up like Les Claypot fishin for sturgeon...) and it def has given them a whole new lease on life. This could be a complete techno meltdown at some point, its all about fine tuning those individual step envelopes, and muting the right steps as well. Super nice remix tool!!

  • BTW - I discovered how awesome it was using 4 bars of Depeche Mode "World in Your Eyes" - just the simple main chorus with that super breathy snare and the iconic synth riff... Within 2 minutes I had the meat for a fantastic Electric Daisy Fest style jammy... Try it, I dare you!!

  • Yep workflow in terms of now having egoist as an AU has noticeably improved. Aside from the extra functionality of being able to use more instances etc. Beautiful stuff

  • Word of advice: seems like there are the ocasional crashes with the new au so remember to save your presets in the app itself. I was still in state saving euphoria so didn’t save the egoist presents I was tweaking, bm3 then crashed and I lost an hours work as I hadn’t saved the preset in the app. Which is probably best practise anyway.

A few test renders here w/ egoist, running about 24 percent swing on the non depechemode version, sounds great!

  • Has anyone got Egoist AU bass midi out going in Audiobus? Think it's broken.

Ok it does work, but the protocol has got a bit confused. You can choose between an AU Egoist instrument in the midi sender slot or the midi FX bass filter AU, as far as I can see. This works but weirdly the midiflow monitor blocks the Egoist midi flowing when you use it in AB, not seen that before.

Also gives some "unknown" midi messages in apeMatrix monitor. but it does work at least :)

  • No working in Cubasis?

  • All working fine here.

LOL, upon further inspection all my AU instruments dont work anymore in Cubasis. Dagummit.

  • Does Egoist working flawlessly in iPadOS? I wanna get it and I must be sure...

Looks like possible AU problems, no way I’m updating until the bugs have been squashed but Egoist standalone is already amazing!!

I’m sure someone with the new OS can comment on issues or lack of them. Sugarbytes are usually quick with updates and Egoist is highly recommended. Check the 5 part tutorial from the developers on YouTube, it has a lot of features.

Did you install Looperverse and play with it after that recent forum post? I did and it hosed all my AUv3 apps and had to do a reboot of my device to get them back.

Just picked up Egoist on sale for Black Friday. Great fun, especially with the presets. Getting down to business, though...

I’d like to sequence the slices with midi (Rozetta for example), but can’t figure out how—at present, midi note in changes the patterns. Thesys has a switch to do this but not, apparently, Egoist.

In other words, I’d like to tigger slices like Reslice.

I’ve noted a method to do this earlier in the thread—switching to the egoist keyboard—but this still changes the patterns when triggered by midi in.

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

The C1 (to part of C2) octave triggers pattern changes, the C3 (to part of C4) octave triggers slices.

Thanks, @AudioGus. Works for me. Should note that the trigger octave starts at C4 here on my end in AUM.

  • I’ve been using Egoist inside Beatmaker this week, then recording the loops to audio scenes. Pretty amazing.

Can you sequence the triggered slices in egoist? Contemplating buying it...

Yes you can. Rozetta, StepBud, etc. Just set the low octave as C4.
