Here’s a simple pop tune I knocked together this morning.

That is just swell. Thanks for that!

Just a simple four on the floor groovebox then....good work Mister.

    Thank you sir!

  • Hooray it’s Friday

  • Noticed that when loading KEW as IAA plugin in BM3, the MIDI output port shows up as something unrecognizable ('X17830') instead of something sensible like 'Electribe Wave'.

I really like it! Congratulations, you know how to handle KEW in a beautiful way! 😊👍

Must be in reference to the Code name...Project X17, released on Aug 30...

Thank you sir and glad you enjoy it...just using the stock patches with a little personal tuning...I'm hearing a little SpaceTime Continuum in this one...

  • And a little exploration before some zzzzzzzzz...

  • Clicking is fixed in latest update :)
Here’s my latest bit if fiddling with it. Loving the bass sounds I’m getting, modulating the amp level on this one for the gating effect. Also used a couple of the vocal samples with modulating pitch and reverse is giving some interesting things to be further explored.

  • I am still fence sitting, but this "clicking" issue being solved is fab news and I knew they'd get on it. Awesome.

Nice! Great use of those “lame vocal samples that you can’t do anything with and just waste space”... :D

Hahah. Nah man. I’m just a human noodling on a fantastic Electribe Wave machine.

But seriously. Thanks. This app just gels with me on so many levels...really wish it was hardware...maybe it’s time to build a custom midi controller mapped to it 1:1 or get this guy to craft one: http://www.synth-project.de/index.html

A hardware version or a MIDI controller would be cool. But with the 5 different tabs, either one would be difficult and costly to design. So I guess this is why Korg decided upon developing an iOS app instead. Considering all that, I’m extremely happy with what we have here. It turns my iPad into an Electribe that’s more advanced and more portable than all of their hardware versions combined at a fraction of the cost. This is easily the BEST $20 I ever spent on an app or anything else for that matter.

Yeah i know. Kind of half kidding. :p i just need to spend some time mapping my Nanokey studio and Roli block to it...just haven’t had time since I’m creating these tracks during breaks in the day where i have 20-30 minutes to play.

I had a hard time deciding which parameters to map to my Nanokey Studio since it’s too limited and the resolution of the encoders is half of what it should’ve been. I’d still be reaching for the touchscreen, so I decided not to use it and be more focused on the app itself. If Electribe Wave continues to keep me glued to it and they add a sample import feature, I might end up buying another iPad to upgrade from the Mini 2.

  • Oh good to know. Yeah Korg has a big hit with me on this app. Going to love seeing how it grows and evolves.

Yeah seriously, they really hit it out of the ballpark with this app. I’ve never seen anyone churn out as much music with this or any other app like you’ve been doing. That alone had me realizing the potential of this app. Since I bought it a few days ago, I’ve been learning as much as I can in my spare time, and mostly spending time with the synth, since it sounds so amazing. If the synth part wasn’t so good, I would’ve easily passed up on it. But it’s capable of so much that I’d never get tired of it. Having 8 synth parts really opens the realm of possibilities here, especially for making drum sounds. So in a way, it does make up for the lack of drum samples, though I’d still love to add my own. I’m really excited to see if or when they add more features. But even in it’s current state, I gotta admit that I really got my money’s worth and I’ve been recommending it to a good amount of friends.

I think productivity is important, and I admire your output. As I make music for a hobby and don’t have much time to dedicate to it, finding tools that don’t get in the way of creating it (I had at least four crashes with the laptop yesterday) are important.

I’ll be buying this later today, I hope I can have as much fun with it as you are!

    Jumped in, off the fence.

First, quick impressions last night were ‘oh’. But after another go this morning it’s grown on me more. I think I expected to be knocking out spacey arp tunes in the first ten minutes, but it requires a bit of effort to get used to the workflow first. Getting there - lots of ‘why doesn’t it do....’, followed ten minutes later by ‘oh there it is’.

As a non-groovebox person it’s taking a bit of time to get used to, but I’m on my way to spacey arp world, and it does seem to do that sort of thing well.

Runs ok on my Air 2, and haven’t noticed any clicks at all.

Synth editing is a bit weird though, miss ADSR controls for example, but yeah.... I think this could generate some track fodder.

Good that, again like echoopera it's nice to hear more mellow stuff being created - unlike the awful demos it seems to come with. Like the sounds you're getting from the synths too, quite unique.

If you give the synthengine some love, it will give back.

Modulating the wave position just a tiny bit with the LFO can give thes lovely changing timbres.I quite love it now, except for the drums.....they are too limited for me.

Yeah I just discovered that bit. I’ll probably end up running it in AUM with the Ruismakers for drums. Did a test and the CPU hit was ok.

This desperately needs sample import, it’ll be a proper thing then.

Shame the drum sounds are so limited, the sequencer works well.

A dedicated controller for this would be really nice. Unusually for me though I am enjoying using just the app. Although the keyboard isn't my favourite, same complaints with it as with most of the gadget keyboards, just a little too short height wise so it feels very cramped. Scale control and Chord input is great though.

There are different ways of 'Arping' too, there is the arp itself, but you can also modulate both pitch and amp with LFO, adjusting the shape of the LFO is really neat too, you cannot modulate this with LFO but can record manual modulation.
Position is how to get the interest from the wavetables for sure, either modulate with LFO or by using EG INT or again, manually record using the position knob.

  • Really don’t mean to be negative but the clicking thing is still there on mono mode but I wait to see for future updates as many have already mentioned. Just wanna put it out there as some people will notice this and some won’t I guess 🙂

When they released the last update (1.0.2) they said they had fixed unintended clicking on some timbres....so I guess it is specific wave forms that have been suffering the issue, and maybe explains why not everyone is screaming about it.

I have not experienced the clicking since the update....if you are still getting it I'd report to them which waveform you are using.
