Thanks for the tip.
Bloody hell!
I thought it was only 16th or 32nd notes! Score! Thanks mate.
Made my morning.
Question: is KEW's synth special enough that KEW would be worthwhile for that alone (I.e. if you were sequencing elsewhere)
That's a tough and personal call. In light of the vast pantechnicon I have stuffed with other synths I'd have to say no.

That’s a rhetorical question right?
Don’t answer that.
This is Synth Addicts Anonymous right? If there is one sound you can use in a track it is worth it. 🤪
But all kidding aside, I’m sure you can get by without it...but i love some of the patches it evokes and haven’t found those sounds elsewhere...but i will keep looking of course.
Korg have just put up a new video covering v2:
when is the sale over?
DEC 3 as I recall.
danke
KEW has slipped into my forgotten folder. I still like it, but as ever the majesty of AUM/ApeMatrix/AU’s overshadows everything.
I hear you. I have been trying to get my small brain compartmentalized on this. I have a folder with many fine apps in it called 'Things That Can Do Things But Not Things You Really Want To Do' which things like dear KEW (GR, Medley, Beatwave etc etc) tends to end up in. I am impressed that I can make all sorts of noises strung together in then, but always have a come-to-Jesus moment where I realize just working directly with instruments into DAWs is better/easier/more fluid/creative/wide-ranging etc etc.
The compartmental bit is ALSO realizing that that's OK and that sometimes, in the car park, or waiting outside the changing rooms, KEW is the perfect quick fiddle fix and that that's good enough....
Yeah, exactly why I've avoided buying it so far. If it was AU, I could easily find a way of working it into my evolving workflow, even if standalone was the optimal way it was designed. It's why I'm not using GR-16, I like it but working it into my workflow is an effort. No reason why these type of apps won't all be AUs one day as standard so there's a continuity possible, just like à la desktop.
Fwiw based on all the apps i have Korg Electribe Wave is one of those i keep going back to. It fulfills my desires as a creative trying to express himself on the platform. But i get it. We’re all different and have different workflows.
Onwards and upwards i always say. We have to reach for what we want in life some times...and respect the constraints we are presented with if it fulfills. 🙏🏼👊🏼™️💕
@davis_korgrd This update look excellent, I have to applaud Korg for listening, please Korg take another look at the mono mode voice thing, I know you can improve on this. Cheers
Sigh. I keep delaying the ApeMatrix innevitability.
If you’ve got plenty of AU’s it’s a great thing. The modulation puts a whole new spin on things.
I do like it, and I was inspired to get it by hearing echoopera’s stuff - no buyers remorse....it’s just I love the AU workflow better. You can build your own system of synths, beatmakers, fx, sequencers etc. rather than have a fixed selection. I’m the same with GR-16, Gadget, BM3 etc.
If you just want to open one thing and noodle, it’s great. I tend to make music when I have a bit of spare time, so the opportunity is there to open a shed load of synths and make a racket.
Beware! “You are in a maze of twisty passages” with the Ape puzzle. But you can build the biggest LEGOs ever considered on IOS. All theses little sockets to join. We should share the projects.
Sorry for what may be a dumb question but ...
Once I download the new samples, where do they go? Not seeing them.
How do you duplicate a pattern? Thanks..
Go to Utility view and select the Pattern you want to Copy and press Copy and select the pattern you want to paste it to. And it is Pasted there.
I guess that’s just copying ‘parts’ of the pattern.. ?
If you want to copy the entire Pattern just save it to a new bank item.
In the drum sample browser, click the plus sign next to user samples, then select iTunes file sharing. I agree this aspect was really unintuitive and took me ages to find them as well.
Thank you!
Thanks Bud, that did it, EZ-PZ..
