I wonder if that means it's Black Friday the update is released? :)
And will it be the Gadget version or full version. I guess the Gadget version is most likely but would be a nice surprise to see the full one.

If you find KEW best then you haven't seen any PPG apps yet (or Nave or Gr16)

ok ok .. but still somehow i like KEW's synth engine most from all available WT synths .. i'm usually more into complex synths with many modulation options but in this case, it simply somehow clicked with me. I really love UI and, most importantly - the sound. Using WT oscillators in combination with cross modulation is just .. exactly my kind of sounds :)

IMHO KEW has this soft and rich sound quality, I love it.

  • Good to see Korg have auv3 in their plans. I hope it extends to the ims20 and ielectribe which are still my favourite Korgs. I guess it will be extra tricky for the oldest apps.

The fact ielectribe still isn’t even in Gadget probably means it will be a shed load of work.

I’d happily buy it again as an auv3 though. And I’d pay extra if they make it take more advantage of the big blank glass screen instead of making you turn virtual dials and use shift keys to do basic things :-) hardware UIs are limited by physical Buttons. I hate it when developers place the same restrictions on the iOS versions! ;-)

Will more AU upgrades follow @davis_korgrd — that would be frigging great! Wavestation AU 😳 dreaming big!

    Agree....big news..and hopefully more to follow :)

  • Reactions around the world to this breaking news about a Korg AUv3... more as it becomes available...

  • So I wonder if KEW AU is the full app crammed into AU space or if it is trimmed down like the Warszawa Gadget.

The update is out now! It’s just the synth

  • All parameters exposed to host. OMG this is great! An actual wavetable AU synth finally!

    Slots nicely into NS2! 😎

  • Awww crap... no preset browser in BM3?

    Isn't Synthmaster One?

  • True, always forget that one is wavetable.

Oh well, another Au synth.. I guess there is always Jazz Drummer to look forward to..

    Nighty Nite..👋

  • This is Korg’s first AUv3 for iOS, right? I hope it’s the start of something big 🙂

  • Yup, gladly awaiting MonoPoly, Polysix, Odyssey, and MS20.

  • Congrats korg!

Yay! Fixed with a firmware update. 28-Nov. Thank you!

  • Wow. It’s really there... thank you Korg!!!! Amazing stuff!!!’ @davis_korgrd

  • So is it only the synth part that’s AU? Can’t be used say as an AU drum machine?

It is just the synth part. Same as in Gadget.

not visible in any host as au... even after reboot. ios 11.4

edit: of course.. it’s still visible in Gadget :) ..... just not ANY OTHER HOST!

edit2: well that was a weird one... went back to read the Wave update blurb in the appstore.. wave was top in the recently updated section BUT still had ‘update’ tab .. pressed it.. it updated again... all is well! :) au in cubasis, apematrix etc..

  • Korg is probably testing the market with this move. I hope that it will be successful and that all the others apps will follow

  • Update was not picked up by UK app store automatically for me, had to search for KEW, then once I was on the KEW page, the update button appeared....just in case anyone else is wondering and waiting for the update to appear !

I’m kinda digging the no preset tab in bm3, it forces you to dig in and create something new. One thing I hate is when you collapse the keyboard the ui stays the same size and doesn’t fill the screen, what’s up with that?

  • Hmmm somehow the standalone version sounds way better and different than the AU version. I have the atmospheric waves pack and really like the stuff the standalone comes with (when you have this pack) but somehow the AU version has not the same sounds!? What am I missing, doing wrong? Thanks for insights...
