No, I’ve added a bunch of samples and the d&d folder is just over 3gb.
@tja how exactly did you delete the demo projects?
.
@tja, have you checked the “Recently Deleted” folder in the files app? It might be possible that the files are there but have retained their linkage to Cubasis somehow. Just a guess...
I noticed the same thing just a little while ago. Tried to clean it up but alas I just ended up deleting the app and reinstalling it. Super clean!
What steps did you take to keep from losing your work?
I had it all backed up on desktop however with Files app you could copy it all to someplace safe. Hmmmm, maybe into Documents by Readdle?
Thanks - nothing magic then. Just good ol’ backup.
Funny, since I learned the hard way the first time I updated my iPad that “backup” doesn’t mean the same thing to Apple as it does to me (i.e. that you can get back to the previous OS version you thought you were backing up), I just assume with iOS that I’m gonna get burned in some way with a “backup”.
Oh yah, I never bother with an ipad backup anymore. I just copy my BM3 projects, my Cubasis sessions to desktop every couple months and that is about it.
Is there not a way to set it to back up to iCloud when the iPad does an automatic back up?
iCloud backup is great for disaster recovery or transfer to a new device, but I wouldn’t want to do a full restore just to delete and reinstall one app. Besides, if the goal is to reduce unwanted space, this might backfire. No one knows what is actually backed up and restored with an iCloud backup until you do it. You could end up right back where you started.
Installed size of Cubasis is 1.2 GB as of v2.5.
It takes a bit of time to update size/available space in the Settings after deleting an app or its files.
Backup should backup apps, documents and files - so they could be restored to any device with any O/S (probably the same or higher version of O/S). Backup does not backup O/S files so O/S could be restored.
Delete them in files app, inside the Cubasis folder
I've done a full sweep of Cubasis and other apps (AuriaPro, AudioShare, etc) deleting everything after a big manual backup to a few cloud locales (Dropbox, Drive, etc) & my iXpand Lighting drive and have also not seen the amount of storage return immediately as well.
But @MobileMusic is totally correct in saying it takes a bit of time for the empty storage to return. I will usually wait 30 min+ and then shut down my Air 2. Upon restarting it the empty storage is returned.
Hope that's the case for you too man...
Not only for deleting files inside an app but also true when you delete an app, the iPad storage graph on the top in Settings does not reflect available space immediately. I deleted a 2 GB app that took a few minutes for iPad to refresh its available space. This is due to caching mechanism for performance so iPad does not have to re-compute storage frequently (traversing through directory tree structure to compute available space takes time). For deleting files, you may have to clean up in the Files app as well if any of them are still lingering around.
Not ideal, but since i'm used with firing up iTunes or iFunbox on my PC to backup project files, I go there and delete the trash folder from Cubasis.
