Fabfilter Pro EQ AUV Update in Audiobus
After the Fabfilter Pro EQ AUV Update it „works“ now in Audiobus. Ok, not really well. There is some crackling or distortion, can someone confirm that?
Sorry if already discussed...
Comments
I tested ProQ2 V2.14 AU in AB3 with AUM in the input (running a FilePlayer with audio loop) and did not get any crackles in ProQ2 AU when moving around filter bands etc.
iPad Pro 10.5 / IOS 11.4
That‘s strange- with AUM in the input it works fine. With anything else (Blocs, Scythe, Electribe Wave ...) in the AB-input it lacks on my iPad Pro IOS 11.41. Even when I run the same things as in AUM before...
Yeah, you are right - i also get crackles when using Blocs as AB input and ProQ2 AU as AB FX.
This is really strange, because in my benchmarks i could run 85 ProQ2 without crackles in AUM, or 77 with 26% CPU in Auria Pro. The measurements allow the conclusion that the cpu=90% limit is reached at about 350 instances of ProQ2. So crackles should not at all happen with just one instance.
Observations:
Have I missed something? Can FabFilter plugs be used without Auria somehow?
You’re going to want to sit down for this...
They threw Churchill out.
Yes, about a month ago FabFilter released FabFilter FabFilter ProQ2. It is likely that the other plugins will follow.
There were big discussions in the AB forum because there are no reduced pricings for owners of the Auria versions bought as IAP. It turned out as a technical Apple shop problem. Even Wavelabs (Auria) does not have a list of apple-ids for each plugin - this is hidden in the Apple Store. FabFilter (as different developper) can not querry if an IAP of a different app was aquired. And Wavelabs cankt hand over a list of buyers.
For the PC and Mac plugins, FabFilter does regular sales during the year - so there probably will be sales for the IOS plugins too.
Now I have to decide Between this ave gotoEQ lol
Yes, for a bunch of $€£ You can get the ProQ2 as AUV in every AUV-Tool. Other Fabfilters are supposed to follow.
So - is it a problem of AB or ProQ2?
The input is indifferent - I get noises with every tool as input so far - except AUM.
I did some research - if one puts Modstep inbetween, there are also no crackles...
I am still undecided, if its a problem of SB or ProQ2. ProQ2 works flawless with Auria, AUM, Modstep, Beatmaker, Cubasis... And also works when you chained the Blocs through another IAA and load ProQ in that app and not AB3, so basically working in the same audio stream.
I get crackles with ProQ AU in the AB3 effects slot with all IAA or AU i tried. Using other effects there are no crackles.
I will report the bug with all my finding (i also looked into other factors) to both parties on sunday when i have more time - allready started in writing.
