NY Compression in Cubasis through send.
Hi guys.
I just recently watched the video from Thesoundtestroom, that describes the way to achieve parallel compression in Cubasis.
In this case,he dublicates the track, heavily compresses the copy and mixes it with the original in order to get the desired effect.
Now,if I'm not wrong,he is using a version of Cubasis BEFORE the send effects came in.
What I'm asking is,do you think we can achieve the same effect using a compressor in the send track, for lets say,our drums?
So we can set the values for parallel compression in the send track and start sending our drums into it.
What you think are the disadvantages?
I tried it and it sounded like it had quite a similar effect.Only issue i found was that you can only control the amount of send and not the original track, since you can't set the effect to post fader(correct me if I'm wrong)
Dublicating gives more control but sending seems way easier and less resourceful.
What are your opinions in this?
Cheers to the forum!
