Xequence + Audiobus (or AUM), can I do an automatic mixdown of my project (song)?

I probably need Audiobus (or AUM) to usewith my Xequence app.... I want to save a project with everything included (Xequence project + Korg Gadget project + AUv3 synthts + presets etc.) and have everything ready to go when I open it the next time.

But how can I record everything? Do I have to route the masteroutput from AB or AUM to AudioShare for realtime recording? Or is there some kind of automatic mixdown feature so midi timing will be spot on? Can I export seperate tracks/stems?

I'm kinda new to all this stuff and altough there are a lot of topics about AB and AUM it's still kinda unclear for me....

  • well, you might consider to check some of AUM's docs/help ;)
It's really simple as you just can record each single channel and the main stereo mix.
Give your project a name and it will create a folder with that label in which all recirded files from that project are collected.

@SlowwFloww what @Telefunky said. The timing will be spot on even when recorded live, provided that all involved apps respect MIDI timestamps.

  • Of the two, only AUM does recording.

Has Doug made any videos on xequence?

I'm going for Audiobus.. I just copy the setup you're working with.... :)

How are you going to record? Audiobus doesn’t do recording.

    Audiobus + AUM + Xequence = magic!

  • in Audiobus you need a (multitrack) recording app in the output slot(s) if you prefer it's mode of operation.
If you record just the plain stereo main out it's probably negligible, but if you want to use the single tracks as stems it may add quite some load to the system.
Could be convenient if the target app is your preferred mixing environment (like Auria), but I (subjectively) wouldn't hold my breath on this.

Can't I use AudioShare to record everything onto 1 stereo mix? If I need the stems I just solo tracks and record them 1 by 1.. I try to limit my app spending a little :)

  • Audiobus doesn’t record anything. If you have AudioShare you could do that.
