That's worse than the new Auxy or Medly or some others, that also don't have proper MIDI In and Out, but at least MIDI file export.
    Very sad.

To be fair though, as long as they don't say they DO have MIDI in or out in their app store description, and if their philosophy is "all in the box", then that's fair enough (just a different philosophy...)

Yes, but with internal sequencers, i just had the impression that this was missing but would come. But it does not come.
I had the hope, that i just may have overlooked a way to export a MIDI file, as i like it as a sketch box.

Anyway, i moved it from the progressions folder to an Audio loop folder, not yet into the App Archive / grave ;)

Sure... that's a reason why I'm a friend of complete openness and very detailed app (and update) descriptions -- not leave a trace of a chance for misunderstandings or disappointment :)

    Ah, yes.
But that's not the goal with a sketchbox, you want to control other synths and record the MIDI.

But without MIDI file support at least, it's just a Synth and not usable to create progressions at all, it only can produce Audio.

    Thanks.

yes, that's sad. you wasted money, didn't you? oh wait, it's a free app, isn't it...

I don’t think it’s reasonable to feel cheated because you assumed it should have midi when it never claimed to. And the devs never even hinted at it. In fact there were many pages of threads here complaining about the lack of midi in Groovebox. It doesn’t mean you’re not right: the app should have midi. Would be amazing.

  • Besides Auxy, do many apps offer midi export? I remember thinking that was pretty special and was happy to find it.
