How I Wrote Electric Ian – track one, Warm Remove

I’ve performed a small video of how the album track Warm Remove, from the album Electric Ian, started life entirely as a Gadget song:

I’ll do the other tracks if this goes viral and I get over, say, a million views.

  • I like seeing how people do their work. I have Gadget and started making things in it but turned left and decided to work in a DAW that would allow longer recorded stretches. First Auria and later Cubasis to share projects with a friend.

This inspires me to re-open Gadget and make something! Gadget inspires play and I feel somewhat blocked lately.

    Thanks.

Kinda sounds like beginnings of an animal collective song :)

"My Girls"? I can hear a similar sound in the synth's used but this songs a Baperou. I Googled it and still don't know what that means.

GOOGLE: "Baperou is a village in the commune of Parakou in the Borgou Department of ..."

    Perhaps, Ian will explain.

  • I needed another structural block like a chorus, but distinct from the chorus, so I blindly typed random prodded characters on the keyboard and got Baperou. That’s a baperou - an alternative chorus.
