Asturias (Leyenda) - Isaac Albeniz on the classical guitar!

This is my rendition of "Asturias", by the amazing Spanish composer Isaac Albeniz, part of his “Suite Española” (Suite Espanola op 47). Also known as Asturias (leyenda) or simply Leyenda, this song is famous for its Andrés Segovia guitar interpretation, as well as great performances by John Williams, Pepe Romero, Sharon Isbin and Ana Vidovic. The transcription was made by yours truly and differs a little bit (you almost won’t notice it) from the one played by John Williams or Ana Vidovic or even Andrés Segovia.

Quite interestingly, this composition was called simply Leyenda by Isaac Albeniz. It was his German publisher, Hoffmeister, who named it posthumously as Asturias (Leyenda) and included it in the 1911 "complete version" of the Suite Espanola op 47, even though Albeniz never intended the piece for this suite.

This piece is not really related to the traditional music of Asturias, a region in the north of Spain, but instead it's quite suggestive of Flamenco, an Andalusian tradition. Leyenda, the piece's subtitle, means legend.
