Jamup Pro XT question
Hi,
I found this forum by Googling for a Jamup Pro forum. Is this the right place to ask a question about Jamup Pro?

I'm sure you'll get an answer here. Welcome.
Yep, we can help. Shoot.
Tis the right place, but you'll get loads of people trying to answer before you even ask the question!
... Did he ask the question yet? ;-)
Thanks. When I'm on my iPad3 and not using Jamup there is a red bar across the top of each page that says Jamup is recording. This appears to be an activity going on since it drains the battery quickly, but I'm not even in that program and when i go there I can't see anything actually happening. I did a full shut down to stop all apps from working but when I rebooted the iPad the same message came up.
I found a solution but not an answer. I deleted the app and reloaded which made it go away, but am still curious as to what happened and if it could have been stopped without a reload. Any ideas?
Press the home button twice to bring up the task manager. Tap X on the JamUp icon to close (iOS 6) or swipe it off the screen (iOS 7).
Thanks! I thought doing a full shut down would do that. Wrong? Someone showed me if you hold the power button down for several seconds it does a more complete shutdown. (Also takes longer to reboot). I thought that process closed all the apps.
Still much to learn.....
@pdgood It's called a hard reset, and you must hold down the home button and the power button simultaneously, until you see the Apple logo.

this is the answer you looking for.
Hope I didn't confuse you @pdgood. What you were describing that someone told you to do, was a hard reset, but they left out the Home button. What Wayni and RockingGarage said is all you need to do. You would use that if you were having more serious issues. You would not lose your apps or anything.
@pdgood - You'l want to keep this trick handy. As you've noticed, certain apps will keep the iPad awake, or semi-awake, and announce themselves with the red "Recording" bar at the top of your screen when you hop out of them. When you get into recording via Audiobus or the various recording apps this happens quite often. Also, you'll want to get in the habit of shutting apps down before making music for best performance as well.

That was so funny.
I love the way this audio hospital has so many willing doctors all rushing to help the patient as soon as he comes through the door,if only life was the same, excellent service guys.
In case others are wondering. The process to close an app is found here:
For iOS 7 http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
For iOS 6, all running apps show up on the multi-tasking bar when you double tap the home button. Then you have to long-press an app icon. Then they "wiggle" with a red "close app" button. Tap the red button to close each app.
It is helpful to close all your other un-used apps when playing music, especially ones that access data or use a lot of CPU power.
Happy music making!
I have had the same issue. I closed the app by clicking home and swiped the app off the screen. Also later did a hard reset. After each of these, as soon as I open JamUpPro the red message across the top of the screen is back.
Hi,
I would say that everyone of us was a newbie sometime ago and we know the hard process to learn from the scratch and how these hurdles can keep you away from your passion (music). We all found in the forum a land where to learn and share and nothing can be more pleasant that give back to newcomers what everyone of us got when we started.
This Red bar across the top, I've used it to switch back to JamUp. I touch it and it brings me back into the app. Not sure if that is the intent or not?
