A question about the plugins that have two versions, one saying midi next to its name
Turnado is on of those apps and I've noticed a handful of others that there are two versions available inside Audiobus, Aum or your DAW...what is the purpose of the plugins labeled"midi" I just have been ignoring them because I had enough on my plate to learn, actually I still do, but now I'm becoming curious and I haven't seen anybody mention it yet....although I haven't really looked that hard either. I figured I'd come across it in a manual but so far I have not.

I reckon these are versions of the same plugin but which can accept MIDI input. The main reason for their existence is that Garageband does not recognize AU plugins which accept MIDI, so for these plugins to be accessible through GB there needs to be a MIDI-less version.
This is fixed in the latest GB. It can recognize AU which accept MIDI
