Updated mine. All seems ok apart from some apps taking a while longer to start in AB3. Namely Loopy and ToneStack.
Other than that the battery seems to go down a bit quicker but not sure and don’t want to start any rumours
I've been holding off due to paranoia ... any reason to not update now then? Sounds solid.
Ooh thanks...my battery took a hit after the iOS 11 update...maybe I’ll hang on a bit...
Dam that’s pretty impressive of BM3 (https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/9y/e92ez2fc0f5v.png "")
I got 4 SM1 and 2 Beathawk and my cpu is around 90% in cubasis 😂😂lucky you.
iPad Pro 10.5 and I already did the ram cleanup.
Which AU and host?
The host is AUM. If you don't mind I wont mention the app name.
Sounds buggy
Not a bug, It's due to RAM size so I used it as the most accurate example of RAM allocation I have for an app. Well maybe is could be a bug though hihih
Synthmaster one definitely performing better now on 12.9 p2 in iOS 12, which is good. Not saying it’s completely fixed the issues but feel now it’s more usable than on 11
I’m hoping the extra Ram allocation means we’ll also get full AU version of PPG apps sometime.
@MonzoPro iOS 11 on my Air 2 at first seemed to hit my battery at first but last week I had something interesting happen. I was pretty busy & didn’t have the time to do as much music as I’d like, but after several days on standby and various 30 min bits here and there I did a four hour session and then got then got the 10% warning.
I checked the battery stats and it was 115 hrs on standby & 9 hrs and change of use! That’s on 11.4.1, I usually (as many here probably do) use the CCK USB 3 with the iPad plugged in during recording, etc but to see a battery only session go that long with no issues was very cool.
I’ve always had trepidations about updating to a new iOS version ever since I’ve had my Air 2 but I usually cave when enough good news rolls in or if my favorite apps get newer OS only operation. I was going to stop at 11.4.1 but if 12 is just a smaller change but with the AU cpu benefits I may cave again...
@thesoundtestroom Doug put the update over huge saying it made his Air 2 run a lot more efficiently with multiple instances of Synth Master One...it’s certainly looking like it hasn’t crippled anything yet...
😂😂the only insert Efx I had on was the channel strip Efx on a couple of tracks not au efx..it’s hungry but I still love it and always try to find work around for issues it has.just hopping it’s get better and bigger as a daw
Thanks, I forgot to update to the latest version of 11, maybe that would have fixed things a bit.
I'm sure I will update to 12 if there's no serious performance hits - always going to be wary though after my iPad2 became bricked with the latest ios version to support that one.
5 moog modelD rocking in cubasis at about 90 percent
iPad Pro 10.5
i have 4 Model D instances in AUM on a 2015 ipad 12.9. CPU hovers at 90%
Crackles when you open up the UI of Model D.
Still, better than 11.4.1. I think I could only do 3 instances before now.
2017 10.5 iPad Pro. Performance is now terrific - can't get it to crackle with my typical problem children (Neo Soul Keys being one of them). This is making recording, mixing, music-making much less anxious...
I managed 147 stock AUs and effects running in 36 tracks in Stagelight Beta yesterday doing a stress test on iPad Pro 9.7 with iOS 12.
I have that iPad and it definitely has improved profoundly, however a week ago i did clear about 30 odd GB of unwated files and otimised a few features for maximum performance.
I’m happy to hear that!🙂
Not in GarageBand
Would be cool if someone would test on both iOS 11.4 and ios12 but I can’t be bothered 😕
I’ve been able to run 11 SM1 instances in GarageBand but when I closed the project and relaunched it one crashed but The remaining 10 were still playing.ipad pro 10.5 iOS 12 really impressive

Tried the test with the same midi file and same SM1 presets couldn’t get past 3 tracks
This is a test with Cubasis and LayR 7 instances.Garageband couldn’t make it last 3 tracks
Cubasis and Sunrizer.was able to play 15 tracks no glitches, even had the channel strip insert in one of the tracks.closed the project and relaunch with out no issues just a minor glitch after I relaunched the project.
iPad Pro 10.5
5 x Syntronik in AUM on original 4gb iPad Pro 12.9
Enough for me.
On my 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9" I can run 3 LayR instances (with default init patch) in AUM, AB3 or Cubasis2. Adding a 4th gives the crackles.
