nanoKeys Studio + other apps + bluetooth midi?
Can I use the nanoKeys Studio via bluetooth midi with other apps than Gadget?
Does it work wireless with Xequence, Caustic and SunVox?
Comments
Once connected it works with all apps so it's not limited to Gadget.
I know that the nano wireless knobs are only 64 step rather than the full 127. Does anyone know if the keys are also 64 step rather than 127?
My fingers don't have 'high enough' resolution to check the velocity levels
I'm not really bothered by the knob-resolution either to be honest as they work well enough for me when I need 'knobs'. (If I need more knobs I can always map the knobs from the UNOSynth and that way I can reach ~28 CC's per midi channel when needed using the matrix on the UNOSynth in 'Local Off' mode so it doesn't produce any sound while tweaking).
fair comment :-) I like to think i have high resolution fingers, ego kicking in here. Just you know when you wanna tweak that filter and reduce that stepping sound... and more is better right?
@Samu
That's great! Thanx
I had some problems to connect with some apps, in that cases using the free korg app bluetooth midi connect solve my problems

Yeah, but it also depends on the app if it does CC interpolation.
I can't 'hear' any stepping in for example Zeeon and Model D and Model 15 or the IceGear or Logic Pro X's built-in synths. CC interpolation/smoothing is a must anyway if the target app uses higher resolution than 127 values
ah is that what CC interpolation/smoothing is, i assume this is designed around 127 steps rather than 64 steps? or the effect is the same. anyway i'm hijacking the thread... sorry guys.
I agree, was disappointed to find out it had half res knobs cause I wanted to record filter sweeps, etc.
Low resolution KNOB is not such a problem if automation is recorded in a DAW/midi sequencer which allow for smoothing curves (like Xequence) IMO. More a problem with filters and live use however, but it’s more of a production tool IMO.
Also velocity playing has improved a lot in comparison with older Nanokey 2. I have both and NKS is much better is that regard.
NKS is top value with a much lower price than before, ultra mobile and fun/inspiring to use. Works great with all apps especially Gadget and all midi learn featured apps. Drum pads are very nice too and can be used as a programmable third octave via editor and 8 presets. BT latency is barely noticeable IMO, you can still use USB cable with CCK but I never use it, and it works also with laptop/desktop including Windows 10 BTLE. It works on removable batteries, so you don’t have to worry about a lithium soldered one. Kaoss pad lacks some precision but is very effective on rythmic/gate effects. Nice chord, scale and arp mode too with led system. Highly recommended all in one compact BT keyboard.
Where do you see it at a lower price than before?
Prices haven’t changed at all.
I bought it 145 euros one year ago, now it’s 115 euros, at least in Europe:

I ordered one... it seems like a nice controller..
