apparently the best way to fix it is to click on the link in the email that your pre order is ready... Then it downloads

Didn't have a problem with it here, it just appeared at about 12.15 am last night. Guess i was lucky..........

  • I've had the same problem with patterning 2. Preordered it, received preorder confirmation. On the release day, received email saying my preordered app was ready to download but I was busy and waited two or three days. Eventually I couldn't download the app from my preorder link. I eventually gave up and bought it anyway, didn't want to waste time and energy with apple for a few bucks. Call me stupid, but all I wanted at that time was to put my fingers on this pretty baby. Felt a bit awkward and most probably will never preorder again, but as @benkamen said developers cannot be held responsible for Appstore's hiccups.

The pre-order system is a nice system that helps developers eke out a bit of a living as they kill themselves to get the software out and rewards their fans with a nice discount.

If you don't have faith in a developer then don't participate. Not sure why you feel the need to knock both developers pursuing this sort of crowdfunding and the fanpeople that want to support their fave developers.

I'm not a big fan of pre-release stuff it's a to simple way of hyping products especially when price reduction come with it. Does remind me of Black Friday where people buy shit they don't need. Although I think @j_liljedahl is a good and trusted dev I still would buy blind I hate fanboyism that comes with this "blind" buying. A more legit way is to reduce the price of a product the first week or two, so early adopters can buy it after they've seen some reviews.

  • Same problem here......I started thinking that I did something wrong. Then I checked my mail.....because of this thread, and there was my preorder.
    Did not download yet though.

  • Still can't download ):

Glad you got it sorted out, but it sounds like the solution doesn't work for everyone.

Just give my general opinion about pre-sale apps and as you can read I don't knock the devs of this particular app down. If something is reviewed and I might be interested I buy the app for the full price. Which I think supports the devs more for example than half price presale

  • .....I couldn't take it any longer and just bought the app.......and they charged me for preorder amount.

  • hell ya that's good..
If you go to settings next time you can see all your preorder stuff and contact apple via chat and they can get it working as well...

Glad you got it figure out

  • To everyone - I have been in touch with Apple and they are looking into all the issues with the pre-orders and the bundle issues. If anyone as an issue, contact Apple support and hopefully they will try to help you since they are now aware of the problems.

  • Hi everyone - update on the bundle issue!

We know some people have had issues with this - mostly because they bought Gestrument as part of the bundle with ScaleGen. So now we have added a bundle which includes ScaleGen as well, and hope that it will be solved in this way. The AppStore support have been able to help some people where it has not worked even though they hadn’t bought Gestrument as part of the old bundle, so you might want to try talking with them. AppStore told us specifically that we didn’t need to add a separate bundle with ScaleGen, and that people would get the discount anyway, but it seems they were mistaken. Even they don’t understand the inner workings of the AppStore - it’s a bit of a mess! We have no control at all over the AppStore unfortunately…

Let’s hope it works out either with the new bundle (waiting for approval in the AppStore) or by contacting AppStore support!
