Syncing Patterning 2 and Beatmaker 3

When syncing these two via Ableton Link and using Patterning as the master there is always a one bar delay in BM3 until it gets going. So my Patterning patterns are always off by one bar. I swear I've checked every option in both apps and can not figure out why I can't get them to start on the same beat. Every time it's the same thing: Press play in Patterning, it starts playing, switch over to BM3 and watch as it waits for four beats to begin. I just want them to start together like Patterning does with other apps. Has anyone found a solution for this?

BM3 doesn't do Link Start/Stop yet so load Patterning as an IAA in BM3 and enable Inter-App Audio Sync in Patterning. Patterning will now start and stop with BM3's transport and the IAA transport in Patterning. I have Patterning 1 not 2 but in theory it should work.

  • Awesome, that worked, thanks a lot. It still misses the first beat from Patterning, but that's such a small annoyance compared to what it was. I hope BM3 gets start/stop sync some day, but until then this will work. Thanks again.

They won’t because they are different versions
