WHY no MUSIC production APPS for ANDROID !? │ iOS has it all for a Reason! haQ attaQ

Why are there so few music production apps for Android smartphones and tablets? How come music app developers prefer to release their synthesizer, drum and DAW apps on Apple's iOS instead. These are questions that gets posted every time a well known hardware/software company releases a new app on iOS. Well I have answered so many times now that I decided on making a video about it. So if you want to find out why iOS owns the musician app market then check this video!

  • Thanks. Informative and good points. I moved to Apple mobile devices because of the terrible lag/ latency of Android stuff. Still using Windows though, just because I've so many unique 32-bits I can't part with. BTW what do you think about Windows and Touchscreen devices. Though much less lag than Android, I also see hardly no synths and fxs especially made for touchscreen.

  • Very nice video, you made me love iOS apps with your YT channel!! :)

  • Whats this about capital R reason? 😉

I’ve only had brief time with the Windows tablet and so the only touch app I’ve used is Figure. I really do want to explore how a windows tablet would fit into a portable studio since they can offer a lot in the form of the already existing arsenal of VST’s etc. But yeah, there are less touch-specific apps made for those tablets.

Btw, I still keep an iPad mini on iOS 9 so that I can use older apps too. :)

@AudioGus Just Auto-correct having its way and me forgetting to check before hitting “ok”.

  • Isn’t there some new Android connector app a la AUM -like?

  • Click bait. Android has AudioEvolution DAW, Caustic and a pretty powerful groovebox thing very similar to GR16 , GStomper and FL Studio Mobile.

Not click bait, man. It's because on loads of iOS app videos or musician videos using these apps, there are always people unpolitely fighting about Android version

Agreed on your list. Add Zolotov's apps (Sunvox, Pixitracker, VirtualANS), Nanoloop, Yellofier, Beatonal, Oscilab, Roli Noise, Bebot, Phase84, RD4, DRC, Soniface, KDJ One and Audiocamp... Oh... and G-Stomper dev is working on something new.

There’s more to this post than just a title. It contains a video too in which I am explaining why iOS is the top choice for music app devs ...

As I state in my post, I keep seeing questions from Android users about this. And I’ve grown tired of writing answers. Now I just have to answer with this video link.

My Budy Tom from synthanatomy wrote about Audioroute by n-track http://www.synthanatomy.com/2018/08/n-track-released-audioroute-technology-like-audiobus.html

Looks like someone is trying to battle this problem now.

I watched the video and agreed with 99.99% of what you said. It was a relevant and informative video. Please take anything I say with a grain of salt. We all commit the sin of clickbaiting from time to time, but at least you’re providing quality content to go along with it.

Who was that popular game/app dev who gave up on Windows saying, “You cannot make any money on Windows App Store” a couple of years ago? I’m trying to recollect that dev’s name. Here are some reasons:

Apple has “first to the market” advantage with its devices and the AppStore where apps have gone virally successful and money followed immediately
